Everyone is betting on Djoker in 4. If Djoker is to be dethroned, this looks like a ripe situation.
Tsitsipas has real experience fighting Novak facing him in finals at masters and GS’s. He’s gone the distance twice and now knows what it takes physically and mentally. Whether or not he’s capable of doing it is another thing but unlike most other players, they don’t know what to work towards. He’s tasted defeat and he’s hungry for the title.
Tsitsipas had the perfect warm up run to this final. Sinner and Khachenov were great tests. Whereas Djokovic faced great players but hardly any weapons. An out of form Rublev was the closest thing. Tsitsipas out hit everyone coming into this final and if Djoker’s leg is bothering him, it wont be like the consistent put backs of Paul and De Minaur coming at him, it’ll be ferocious winners that requiring running down. Djoker has also put up an uncanny amount of unforced errors coming into this final. The big three consistently put up a 3:1 winner:unforced error ratio in most of their title runs and right now djoker is 2:1 to 1:1. This form might not be enough to beat a motivated and in bloom Tsitsipas.
The one major problem with Tsitsipas this tournament is he lets up when he’s ahead. He let both Sinner and Khachanov back into the match. I was on the Over in that last semi with the rest of the forum and like everyone else was surprised to see how man handled Khach was. But as soon as Tsitsipas got to 6-5, match point, he turned into a hitting partner. I got really excited right then and sure enough he lost the TB. That is definitely not going to work on Novak. Perhaps those repeated mistakes will serve as a reminder to keep the foot on the gas? Old habits die hard though.
Tsitsipas +5.5 looks like a good bet to me and at 4:1, the money line is very tempting here.
GL all.

If Tsitsipas doesn’t settle, this could be a short one indeed. I’m still looking for the Tsitsipas from the rest of the tournament to show up. Nerves look like they’re getting the best of him and Novak isn’t making it any easier. He looks like he’s out for a stroll.

Everytime Nole wins another slam, I can't help but recall that one time tennis troll who used to post here,,,he had a thread of Djoker winning over/under 10.5 slams in his career...he was a staunch Djoker hater and claimed he would never get close to Roger's status in the sport.
I know you're still here reading these threads and posting under aliases D1coach,,,Oopsie on that Djoker take

I got one account to troll with, this one. I honestly thought Tsitsipas was playing excellent coming into the final. He looked like he was trying to stay calm for the first set which isn’t really him. Joker came out hot (as usual, 2-0 first two games I see all the time with him) and mixed his shots up so well, Stefanos never got going. Never found rhythm. His early matches he was hitting within 6 inches of the sidelines. Today he wasn’t hitting any angles and stayed about 2 ft from the sidelines.
He started to show glimpses of his early round form in the second set but Djoker did a good job playing with time between points. (Did they get rid if the clock today?) Paused as the receiver, extending the distractions a couple times which again kept ST out of finding flow.
I just thought this was a ripe situation with Noles injury and ST’s trajectory.

No buddy, maybe I didn't clarify my post,,,no way was I accusing you of being him...my post was merely a thinking out loud thing. My apologies if it came off differently.
