Halep Vs. Sabalenka

Halep has been unimpressive and Saba has looked good. I liked Sabalenka here and thought she would be a slight dog.. the books have her -130 - -140.. That says even more about Halep's chances to me.

I'm with you, let's do this.  Halep definitely didn't look right yesterday. She had to take that medical timeout for a back injury in the 3rd set.  Although that could have just been chick drama.  :)  Either way she needed a break, whether injured or tired.

Simona said her back locked a bit, at 5-1 in the 2nd set, when she hit a backhand, so she took the medical timeout just to be sure it isn't something serious. After the game she did an interview on a national sport channel and set her back was ok and wasn't concern about it.

Sabalenka should win this one, unless Simona manages to get under her skin, because Aryna can be a mental case sometimes.

Yep. The ol’ in-game tennis wager. Would prefer if that doesn’t happen but this never was going to be straightforward. Blood pressure gonna take a hit.

Halep played unbelievable in that third set. Saba threw everything at her but in that mood, Halep is a wall.

Simona was too passive in the 1st set, let Aryna dictate the pace of the game... but she changed her tactics in the 2nd and Aryna got inside her head and imploded. This is still a problem for her, with all that power that she has, when she loses her patience she becomes a UE machine, Simona won this one on her mental fortitude...
