If u lose everything from gambling. How long should ur break be before playing again?
if by everything you mean your wife, kids, house, dignity, etc then I would say the obvious answer to your break should be Forever.
if you mean you simply drained your gambling account and need action at some point, wait until you get a nice bonus or a few nice paychecks from work ( assuming you still work ) and start back slow.

I would say the first paragraph describes it perfectly. I dont have any kids but if I did I would of probably lost it too.
Tonight was the final nail in the coffin...
Gambling has cause all sorts of problem in my life lately.
I want to give it up but I know its gonna be hard...that thought of wanting to win it back will always be in the back of my mind ....I hope it will get easier by the day.
Thanks bigd for the advice.

@handycat
Quit...find yourself a society who helps with problem gambling.
It won't be easy, but the long road ahead will be okay once you come to accept you will never get your money back...it's gone and there is 0% chance it will ever get back into your possession.
Move forward with a non-gambling lifestyle and find a support group for the upcoming tough times associated with withdrawals.
There is absolutely no shame to admit defeat now in order to save the rest of your life from inevitable losses, financial and relationships

I know your shoes. I'm in the same scenario. Probably even worse. I've lost a lot financially. If you wanna maybe talk about it on the phone or something maybe that would help each other. We could hear each other's story. Sometimes it's good to talk with someone in the same situation.

One thing that have help me a lot when I have had a really bad period is to try to replace the gambling with something else.
Going to the gym worked really well for me, I went almost every day when I wanted to stop, and always went times where it’s normally a lot of matches playing just to disconnect from it.
Also started to play computer games online that would take away lot of time and to think of something else.
If you think of all the time we spent on analysing matches and then also watch them, you could have an extra part time job instead with a guaranteed income.
when you feel that you want to place a bet, put the money on a saving account instead that is locked for 12 months. They you will slowly start building up your finance again.
don’t know what kind of work you do, but there is also a lot of online classes that you could take and invest your time in instead to learn new skills that will generate you an extra income in the future
good luck my friend and take one day at the time.
