Rune should be on the fade list - he injured his right shoulder in the finals today and tried to play through it but couldn't hit a basic forehand plus was only able to spin serves in...whatever he has won't be fully healed in time which is a shame because he's going to contend for multiple French Opens moving forward, and I thought he had a decent chance this year but not anymore.
Other notables carrying injuries are Sinner, Djoker, and possibly Rafa & Carlito (very hard to get a straight answer regarding Spaniards)
So, could this leave open a solid run for Tsitsipas & Rudd simply based on health and relative dependability to be able to perform for 2 weeks without breaking down playing 3 out of 5?
The reason the big 3 were always so dominant in majors is because they were physically fit to play long matches and recover quickly if necessary,,,far more superior than the rest of the field.
Could this be the year of a real dog winning? Like Fritz, Musetti, Rublev, Norrie, Fokina, Cerrundolo, Zandschlup, Hurkacz?

Well, let me take my fungus foot out of my mouth,,,I turned off the match with Rune down two breaks 2-5, 15-40 when Z pulled off one of the biggest choke jobs in a tour level finals in the modern era.
Whatever pain meds they gave the kid must have worked, but if there is structural damage, I don't like his chances at the French.
Props to Rune for never retiring like so many in his position likely would have...much respect to him.

I would like to see the books put Lajovic up for sprinkle purposes. I do believe that Alcaraz does not win this tournament. I can't get behind an American on clay surfaces.
Are you confident that Norrie's clay game can get him to the finals? I am not so sure (Maybe I am biased.)
Glad to see you are around!
