1-Goerges pick: Goerges is superbly intelligent and rested now after fending off a very determined youngster in Yastremska who played the game of her life 2 days ago. Makarova has played well lately but she's just at a different level and too 1 dimensional for Goerges. She barely got past a weak Rybarikova in her last match and showed that she is primed and ready to spray lots of unforced errors coming into today's match.
2-Sabalenka: The bookies and the whole world is moaning about how "tired she'll be" after yesterday's brawl w Gavrilova but Sabby is only 20 yrs old, she'll be ok. Not to mention that Sabby is getting sharper and controlling errors when it counts and is hungry and playing well right now. Yes, Bencic is decent, but not superb and not at Sabby's level. As you saw in my previous post, I predicted Bencic to beat Giorgi, not due to her skill, but due to Giorgi's inability to control unforced errors and that's exactly what happened there in that match.
3- Garcia pick: Garcia struggled in the first round against a determined Sasnovich but overcame the challenge and now with a full rest of 2 days she'll be ready to go. Puig is simply at a different level and while she overcame a washed up Kontaveit yesterday, her bruiser style of hard hitting and little in-game-IQ will just not be enough here. Garcia should get this done in straight sets, although it may go 3(although I don't think it will).
4-Navarro: I think Navarro can win a set here. Kvitova had a rough day yesterday w Diyas who arguably isn't even at Navarro's level. I think Kvitova can pull off a win here (maybe) but I don't see it in straight sets. The price is good here.

I think it is a good line with +EV but the reason is because Makarova is on a hot streak (technically speaking) and Goerges struggled in her last match. The streak of Makarova was as much about her opponents as her, and Goerges struggled because the girl she played was super good and played the game of her life.
In addition, while Goerges is super intelligent, she has been known a time or two to walk in and flop hard. Makarova is no slouch but if you've been carefully watching these girls play the line should be around -165 or so.

Goerges starting off slowly but broke back to stay on serve in the first set. She definitely is the sharper player but MUST get her errors under control . I think she will.

She's my new favorite player but I need to see how Sabby plays next to really estimate a good price in their next round matchup (provided Sabby doesn't spray errors and toss the match)....On a side note, I hate betting against lefties. Lefties have such an advantage baked in...
