I feel like Novak, Rafa, etc have been great for tennis over the last decade. These guys are in their mid/late 30”s. The sport needs to bring in a few players that younger fans identify with. I think Krygios gets a major here which helps marketing for the game. I didn’t want to bet Nick because he was being friendly but I understand it now. It needs to be a friendly thing for older fans to embrace the next phase of tennis
There are a lot of good young and relatively young players right now. Medvedev, Kirgios, Auger-Allassim, Ruud, Alcaraz. Yes, they are not promoted yet. But once upon a time Rafa, Nole and Roger were the same.
You just have to give them time) There will always be new heroes.

The only really selling point there is Carlos and Auger who are still very young, maybe Ruud. Medvedev has obv proven himself and will be the big dog once the big 3 retire, but it still just won’t be the same. Maybe if he conquered them the last few years and took over but he failed to do that at the Aussie. Nick is Nick lol guys had all the talent for years just never put it together consistently. We’ll see how he goes from here but I doubt you’ll see that run from him again in a major. It was relatively easy draw for the most part and got a gimme semi. It’s not like he just came outta nowhere, it was no secret he has all the talent in the world. These guys just don’t have the same mentals as the big 3 and never will that’s the difference. The sport will be a lot more unpredictable which will be kind of fun, you see it in the womens game now since no serena the last few years. Carlos has rafa type heart so I’m sure he’ll be the one to take over.
