How about a full global boycott on the upcoming winter Olympics? That would be a truly appropriate response, demanding her safe return or else the world will not participate in the olympic sham.
Or, the USA could use this as their "new Vietnam war" for today's generation, using the me too movement as their public reasoning for demanding justice on a humanitarian level, but truly going into war with China for other more sinister reasons such as control over a global crypto currency and wiping out their huge debt to China by essentially saying F U, come collect if you dare.
Honestly, nothing good can possibly come out of this, as Shuai is most likely never to be seen again, and what a tragedy that must be to her friends and family...this is beyond the scope of tennis or sport...this will become the equivalent to the Arab spring and expose a lot of what's been going on behind Chinese enemy lines.
