Garin hasnt played that good to begin with. He easily could have lost to martinez. Monfils does play good and he even was close to beating federer in grand slam couple years ago, but he missed an easy break point opportunity. After that he looked like he didn't want to be there and kept hitting into the net. He isn't mentally strong as higher ranked players.
