Wimbledon’s Decision to ban players
IMHO no one is really talking nor speaking to the elephant in the room……………………which is that professional tennis needs to get its “shit” together and we all know that they never will, because there is entirely too much money, benjamin’s, cash, dinero, mullah involved (billions).
The problem lies with all of these different entities who govern and run professional tennis.
The ATP and WTA tours both agree that banning these Russian & Belarusian players from competing at Wimbledon makes no sense.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) runs the major international tournaments and the Olympics, so they're in a different category.
The 4 Grand Slams are all separate entities who occasionally or sometimes work together on some issues, rules or such but generally they make their own decisions and choices.
So, Wimbledon is free to do whatever it chooses, and no one can stop them.
The players are basically private contractors and come from so many different countries and speak so many different languages and come from so many different backgrounds and each any everyone in general are so very young in age and real-life experience and knowledge of the world of business and politics.
Each and every one has so many different people who make a living and depend on them in some way or fashion that are constantly in their ears (parents, agents, sponsors, managers, coaches, trainers, nutritionist, friends, hangers-on and others) that it’s dam near impossible to get them to agree on anything or stand united on any issue.
Wimbledon’s Decision to ban these players only illuminates and magnifies this situation and proves that tennis needs to get its “shit” together.
Which they never will in my lifetime.
