I see another complaint about someone skirting the rules and getting 5 picks. I have a similar question. First thing I do is make my picks...and then check the leaders AFTER I make mine so I also have rooting interest in those games....I've noticed the last two days that I have followed the rules and picked each of the 4 sports. I would like to know what the glitch is that many people take advantage of to not have to pick each of the 4 sports. I hate the NBA and have had to pick preseason games.....I check other's picks after I make mine, and see people have doubled up on some sports and avoided the NBA, would like to know how I could do the same.

it's not a glitch. If you don't pick until after there are no games left in a certain sport, you don't have to pick it.
Example:
if all there was on a day was college basketball, nhl, and nfl. You would normally have to pick one in each and then pick a 4th from whichever you want. If you didn't pick until after the nfl game was off the board, you wouldn't have to pick NFL.

check some of todays picks...nothing has started, and there are people who don't have all four sports covered yet have doubled up already.....I understand in cases where you may get on line late and have no choice...but unfortunately, this is not the case here.

today has 4 sports, ncaa football, nhl, ncaa hoop, and nba, the leader has 2 ncaa hoop games and no nba....there are probably another 3-4 on the first page who have already submitted picks and done the same.

In my case there were no NBA games for me to chose from. Only college bball and fball and nhl. Now I can say I did it very early and the lines may have not been up by then for NBA. That could be the problem you are running into. I have yet to take any NBA I do my picks before 9am usually.

Yesterday, when I was still on vacation in Vegas, they posted the three NBA games at about 12:30 PM p.s.t. right in the middle of my two hour allotted computer time I had at the Clark County Library and I had a plane to catch. There's no way I could have anticipated this and the result was I went 2-2 instead of 3-1 as the Detroit Red Wing pick I was going to use for my fourth selection ( would have been a winner) instead became an ill-fated poorly thought out LA Laker pick. I would have been OK with having to select an NBA game if all other participants had to do the same but that wasn't the case. So, yeah, I'm kind of irritated that the Covers Managers who do so many things right, would lay this big surprise on those of us who hadn't had a chance to make early selections yesterday and who didn't have the time to try and handicap the games (as if that would really matter in NBA pre-season).

Well, I just looked at the leaders pending selections, and it seems that if you place your picks early enough you can avoid having to make a NBA pick. So, my choice is to try and put my picks in earlier than I'm comfortable with (I'm not a morning person) or get better at picking NBA pre-seaon winners. Tough choice fbut I'll probably choose the latter.
