almost everyone knew about this contest awhile ago
everyone was anxiuos to play yesterday and that's what clogged up the server
but when you finally got through after sometimes an hour of trying you were told to pick 1 game from each sport
now you find out that some people picked later on in the day and picked mostly from one sport because baseball was done
HOW is that fair to the rest of us who picked in the morning or early afternoon
who really wants to pick arena football as one of their picks
OR baseball when the starting pitcher only goes 1,2, maybe 3 innings tops it's a crap shoot
so what should happen now
restart the contest-how's that fair to the people who picked properly and got 4 right
take away right games for those who picked more than one from one sport-maybe it's not their fault - maybe they knew
you guys should've planned this contest a bit better
you're going hear a lot more bitching in the days to come

||an_shake.gif' border=0> Your just a idiot survivorsmine...you have no idea of what makes a good capper. A good capper only restricts himself to what works...and if what works happends to be one sport...then why should he or she choose to leave their strengths! That would only be stupid! No ones crying its called a point of view! The idea of the contest is great but by no means should the person that wins be crowned a great capper! I would say he or she is good...but not great! Its a lottery now, not a haddicapping competition...ya ill still give it a go! Its for free and I stand by my point! GL it will be needed. Shit anyone got a pick for MLB!||an_speak.gif' border=0>

Wow, how are these complaints even possible?
Sure, a good capper has their strengths & sticks to them. Nobody is saying that you have to bet all the same plays that you pick in this contest. If you are forced to guess in a sport, that would be stupid to also bet that pick, but to say that a lucky player will win this vs a good capper is ridiculous. It is obvious that this contest will require SOME LUCK & also SOME SKILL & the RATIO between the two will simply lean to the best all-around capper of ALL SPORTS & that's what this contest is about.
I mean Jesus, I suck at Arena & I don't know the first thing about preseason MLB, but how on earth can you bitch because you are weak in some sports. If you don't like this type of contest, I am fairly sure nobody is holding a gun to your heads.
I will make 1 suggestion though ... I think that offering fairly sizable Money Line favs in MLB & NHL should be rethought. If this is REALLY about capping skills across all sports, then why should someone who is a skilled preseason MLB capper have to work for a pick while 90% of the rest just ride the biggest ML Fav on the board? I think putting a 'Survivor' like cap of -130 would make a bit more sense, would limit the board a bit more & would actually force some capping in NHL & MLB rather than allowing so many bailout plays. Everyone gets to pick the same plays, so I don't think it's too late to make that change.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. I would just like to add that this is a great site that offers some great prizes. I have never won anything more than a Wagerline Cap for 9 wins in Survivor, but I still know better than to look a gift horse in the mouth. For everyone who is bitching, you might want to reconsider because I know that if the owners of Wagerline got fed up with all the lack of appreciation & closed the site, there would be 1,000s of unhappy players. Bottom line, if you don't like the way a contest is layed out, DON'T ENTER. How hypocritical is it to want free contests & then complain that it doesn't play into your own personal capping strengths?

P.S.- to Pepper, not sure what you are talking about, but I entered yesterdfays contest late in the day & all that was left to choose from was a full slate of NBA & 2 NHL games. As soon as I made my first NBA pick, the rest disappeared. I was only able to make 2 pics total out of 2 available sports. Are you sure some people got to pick from the same sport?

Wes Fisher........I couldn't have said it better myself. I totally agree with your ideas for making this contest fair & balanced & hope the guys @ wagerline will think about a change.
This site is a true sports handicappers dream. Any stat you want is there & the FREE contests are just about the best on the internet. Not to mention Wagerline is a great place to prove just how good you are when it comes to knowing a person's skill level at picking winners. I have no grips with Wagerline whatsoever!
Keep up the great work Wagerline & thanks again Wes for your thoughts on the subject||thumbs_up.gif' border=0>
