I am putting together a brand new MLB keeper league starting this year.
We are looking for one more person to join. The league is on ESPN. Msg
me for more details.

- - - THIS IS A 5 YEAR KEEPER LEAGUE - - -
200.00/year per team.
You can share a team with multiple managers.
PAYOUT: (2000.00 Total for league)
1200.00 - 1st Place (profit 1000.00)
600.00 - 2nd Place (Profit 400.00)
200.00 - 3rd Place (money back)
(In the event there are 12 managers instead of 10 we will amend the
payout structure, first place will always profit minimum $1000.00)
KEEPER RULES:
Each year a team will be able to keep a total of 8 players from
their team to continue on to the following year. The remaining players
will be placed back into free agency where a draft will occur the
following year for these players.
8 x 10 = 80 players as keepers.
*(note that this is unofficial as the league will likely vote on the number of keepers to be kept each year)
The first draft will be a snake draft and will be randomized at
least one week prior to the draft date. This will allow for the trade of
draft picks.
The team that finishes in last the previous year will get the first
overall pick the following year and so on (10th gets 1st, 9th gets
2nd...). Unlike the first draft, the second drafts will not be a snake
draft but instead will be a set order, always giving advantage to the
weakest team from the year before.
There is no limit to how many years you may hold onto a keeper player.
TRADES
Trades for players and draft picks can occur all year round, however
during the season THERE IS a trade deadline. It will likely be August
31st at 9 AM. After that point trading will be suspended until the
season is over.
WAIVERS/FREE AGENCY
Each team will be allocated a total of 250.00 to spend on the waiver
wire for the entire year. When a player is placed on waivers and you
want to pick him up, you will be asked to "bid" on a player. The team
that bids the most out of their 250.00 will be awarded the player.
BEWARE! You only have 250.00 for the entire year so make your bids accordingly.
FREE AGENTS: Are free to pick up and will not cost you from your
waiver wire money. A player must pass through waivers in order to be a
free agent.
PLAYER LIMITS: There are a maximum of 2700 IPs for the season. Once
you hit 2000 IPs, you will no longer be able to gain additional
statistics for pitching. The idea is to maximize your production into
2700 innings. ALSO, there is a minimum amount of 1000 innings required
for the year for pitching. You can't start the year off hot and sit
every pitcher from then on out.
** For your pitching stats to count you must have at least 1000 total innings pitched.
The IP's breakdown:
200 IPs x 12 p's = 2400
100 IPs x 3 p's = 300
Total = 2700
PROSPECTS:
Prospects who will not be played in the MLB are to be drafted and
added at your discretion. The only one to hold onto a player is to keep
him on your bench and use him as one of your keepers each year.
TEAM INFO:
Teams are designed to have a certain amount of depth to them so each team is not stacked with all stars.
There are currently 36 roster spots = 360 total players.
*(roster positions and size are subject to change as well with the league voting on it)
