Let's begin by looking back at the regular season. The Celtics & Heat played each other three times, with Boston winning two of those. They totaled an average of 197 points in those games. In Game one of THIS playoff series, they combined to score 225 points with Miami's 3rd Quarter onslaught really sticking out as they put up 39 by themselves. In game two, both Marcus Smart and Al Horford are expected back. Marcus Smart is not only the defensive player of the year but the vocal leader of this team on the court. Smart will lock on Jimmy Butler & limit him a bit here. Last round, the Boston Celtics faced an above average defense in Milwaukee, no doubt, but let's not forget this Miami Heat team had a higher defensive rating in the regular season than that of the Bucks. Their team defense was ranked 4th, where as the Celtics was 1st. Don't expect there to be too many high scoring games in this series. The Celtics Bucks series averaged a combined 203 ppg, while the Heat Sixers averaged 202.5 ppg against a similarly ranked Sixer squad. It is no secret here that the Miami Heat are 7-0 at home in this year's playoffs. There has already begun talk from pundits and fans of the NBA of Jimmy Butler and the Heat returning to the NBA finals again this year and that the Heat are far superior after a convincing game 6/8... one win, albeit minus Marcus Smart and Al Horford and only winning 1 quarter. Jimmy Butler has been dominant too averaging 29.8 ppg in the playoffs, with THREE games scoring over 40 points (one being game 1 of this series). Enter Marcus Smart, defensive player of the year. Butler has followed up the other two 40+ point games with an off game, scoring 20 and 23 points. Those type of performances are not sustainable and don't think for a second that Smart will let Jimmy Butler have his way with the top-rated defense in the league in back to back games. The Celtics make a statement tonight & grab control of this series.
Two Large Plays:
Boston ML Jimmy Butler UNDER 26.5 Pts
