We are new to the site. Our group (4 investors) hopes to give some insights and pick some winners for everyone.

 

Starting Bankroll:  $4,000 (decisions made by 2 individuals: 50/50)

Individual 1: SEDB

Individual 2: E85SH

 

Units: 1 = $100

 

Only rules are:

No more than 3 units on 1 play.

No more than 3 plays on any given day. 

 

Resources used to make decisions on games vary and are not limited to: Betting simulators, statistical trends, and when necessary the magic 8 ball.

Play 1: Chicago Cubs @ SF Giants Over 7. (-110) 

 

Sean Gallagher takes the mound for Chicago, looking to win the series against the Giants and one of the top pitchers in the NL, their ace Tim Lincecum.  Lincecum is 2-1 at home with a 3.06 ERA in 7 starts this year. Gallagher is a rough 0-3 with a 4.99 ERA on the road in 5 starts. 

 

Teams are batting .280 against Gallagher on the road, vs. just .229 at Wrigley Field. For full disclosure, Gallagher's last 3 road starts have been in the AL against the White Sox, Rays & Blue Jays, giving up 8 earned runs in a combined 17 innings.  

 

Linecum is coming off a 7 inning shutout performance against a weak hitting Oakland A's team that he dominated with 11Ks to only 3 BBs and 5 hits.   He had an all or nothing June going 2-0 with a 2.48 ERA. 4 starts he was lights out 0 or 1 run in 7 innings of work each.  In the other 2 starts, he gave up 5 run in 5 innings and 4 runs in 7 innings, earning 2 no decisions in 2 games that easily went over the posted totals..

 

This is a situation where either pitcher could be vulnerable to give up a few runs early, which is always a major positive in betting the over.

Play 2:  1 unit Philadelphia Phillies @ Atlanta Braves Under 7.5 (-110) 

 

Jurrjens is 5-0 with a 2.49 ERA at home, and he is + money against an ace in Cole Hamels who had his “worst” outing of June in his last start, giving up 4 runs in 7 innings against a Texas Rangers squad that had the hottest lineup in the majors. Atlanta, outside of Chipper Jones, has not been hitting when it matters as of late.  On the other hand, the Phillies have put up 15 runs in the first two games of this series, and are looking for the series sweep. It will not come easy against Jurrjens.

 

The first to 4 runs will win this one.  Braves 4, Phillies 2.
