For weeks, Carolina sat at -3 while the odds rose as high as -20 or 25 while the number never really moved. I took advantage and bought +3- laying only 15 cents, a fabulous price (in my opinion) with the home dog CHAMPS in what figures to be a relatively low scoring game.
Well look at the number now! Same price but now you are laying extra juice with Denver! Very interesting!!
I would imagine the public is overrating the revenge motive here, as great as it may be. From the perspective of the new regular season however, this is just game one of sixteen, and a very tough spot for any road team, much less one spotting points. Newton's revenge and Semien's complete lack of experience are of course factored into the number and Carolina can certainly win this game but I like where I'm sitting right now taking 3 and a hook.
5% Denver +3- if you can get it (or have it) laying up to -20.
4% Denver +3 otherwise
May use Denver in several teasers as well (only play these at 11-10 vig with ties being pushes, don't get ripped off).
Denver +9 with Jets +8-/Titans +8-/Lions +9-/Chargers +13/Jags +11/ and several others hold interest. Not going to make them official but I may make official teasers plays off a separate bankroll this season. You can figure out which teams I might use, right? Please note that teams considered for teaser plays don't necessarily constitute side plays as well (although I pretty much like these sides).
