This pool was run on paper in
years past back in Maine/New Hampshire where I'm from. This is the first
year its been put online, which will hopefully increase the amount of
entries quite a bit. Along with starting it up online we want to make
sure our system is working properly, so before we get into the majors
where real money is on the line, we're offering a free entry into this
weekends Arnold Palmer Invitational. The winner will receive a free
entry into the Masters pool.
The pool itself is a tiered selection pool. These tiers are determined by
current world ranking. You simply select one golfer from each of 5 tiers. For scoring, you receive the number of strokes
your chosen golfer’s get on the course. Golfer's who miss the cut will
be given the worst score of the day +1, so it’s pretty imperative to get
your 5 guys through if you want to win. Just like on the course, the
lowest score wins. Pretty simple.
So, if you’re interested, go here:
Arnold Palmer Invitational Form
And fill out a form. Forms are due by 11:59PM on March 16th.
This free pool is a precursor to our pools for each of the 4 majors. Each major we payout winners (based on number of entries), but
alongside that we do a cumulative pool of all 4 majors. We call it the
Grand Slam Challenge (GSC). It's an extra $20. In previous years the GSC
was winner take all, but that may change if we get a large number of
entries this year. So if you do decide to enter the Grand Slam
Challenge, you're looking at a $60 total investment ($10 each of 4
majors, $20 GSC).
If you like the idea of the pool, I encourage
you to invite anyone you know who may be interested. You can simply send them the link if you'd like. Bigger fields = bigger payouts.
Again, this week is free, so there is zero risk in entering.
Hope to see your entry!
