Tampa Bay Rays -143
This is a pretty easy pick for me - I imagine a lot of people will be pimping this one today. Tampa Bay owns the New York Yankees going all the way back to last year and both of em know it. The Yankees have dropped 5 out of the last 12 to them . 9 out of the last 21. Tampa Bay is trying to continue pushing themselves up in that division. I mean shit, you figure at home is the best place to do it. They’re 30-18 down there. That's good right?
And if you want to talk pitchers - Montgomery’s ERA looks solid until you consider it is damn near two points higher on the road. (2.95/4.75) Shane McClanahan seems to not make it very far into the innings but you have the #2 ranked bullpen coming into the back of this game to take care of business. They did take a piece out of him (4 runs) on June 2, but they can adjust that. They got one of the best pitching staffs in the league.
I always take TB when they play NYY. Just something that has worked for me. Maybe it will for you too.
Baltimore Orioles. +115
It’s not a pretty pick, but Watkins has yet to give up more than 1 run this month. And he’s faced heavy hitters. (TB.Tor.CWS) Miami hasn’t managed to score more than 2 runs in 7 of the past 10. They just put up 9 runs vs. SD, but so what? That # will regress. Not continue.
Baltimore has put up 5 or more runs in 6 of their last 7. That lone game, they still got four runs. The team that scores more runs wins the game, don’t they? Alcantara has had four bad games in a row, he’s not even making it far into the game. Pitched 3 innings in the last one, and four in the one before that. The Miami bullpen is top 10, but I’m going to live dangerous and grab that+115 and hope Baltimore continues this 6-1 run against a Miami team that is 19-34 on the road.
