So a friend of mine has fallen victim to a sports betting consulting firm that portrays themselves as a "vegas-based sports consulting firm that sells GUARANTEED winning information on sports wagering whether you're wagering online casino or land"
it appears to be a massive MLM and he is drawing a ton of friends to it on social media, flashing images of stacks of cash and all that glorified BS. the ring leader is named Joe Caruso and he claims to be an ex wall street broker turn pro gambler.
This company waves a ton of red flags: the incorrect grammar, no website besides facebook, no address, no whereabouts or credentials of the company or owner, no pictures, 85% accuracy winning rate, etc. Literally all i could find was a FB address.
I'm a firm believer of believing half of what you see and none of what you hear, as well as if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. i'm curious if anyone has heard anything about these clowns? my buddy is all wrapped up in the hype and there's no reasoning. i tried to do due diligence and can't find anything. any info would be appreciated

Imagine if every morning you woke up and on your smart phone were the results and box scores of every MLB/NBA/NFL/NHL game tonight.
What would you do? Sell picks?
Or try to find out a way to quietly take about $5,000-$10,000 a week travelling around and spreading it out on different sports books in the world? Just under the radar as a tourist?
The pen is mightier than the pigs

Do you guys know any legit sports consulting firms that are not scams and actually successful?
Successful ones, syndicates and such are not looking to dilute the market with their picks - they are looking to quietly take about $20,000-$50,000 a week spreading out their agents all over the world's casinos and sports books, online as well, getting down as much action as the sportsbooks will take.
But even super successful places only hit 55%-65% of the time, they get killed to.

The places like the ones listed here in that Facebook link are sales offices. Stock brokers are salesmen - the really successful ones are really good salesmen. They don't care about the stocks they are pushing, they just need to generate volume and commissions and also prospect for new clients on a regular basis as older ones get toasted or drop off.
If the picks win, great, if not, who cares - you have angry people on the phone - that's their job to handle these calls and also to prospect new clients. They do this by generating hype over the phone, key words like strong play, insider information, hot tip, super trend that only we have, etc...
They are able to falsify their records - especially on Facebook by posting something with today's date - like Take NYM and Take TOR and hiding it, only visible to them and after the winner make visible the wining pick, showing the timestamp of hours before the game. They can delete or review angry comments before they hit the page, only allowing the good ones. Their FB page looks pristine.
Truth be told some players are so bad that they might actually fare better with a service.

Lets start with the fact that they don't have any guaranteed winners, nothing is guaranteed in sports and the fixes and crap it's impossible.
That's a scam, I know some people that are running a type of sport betting investment trying to hit 60% + of their picks playing conservative, haven't tried it and probalby never will but at least they aren't selling you guaranteed crap and it's a conservative longterm plan.

Lmao. Barney, that is exactly what they are doing from my understanding. I just can't believe people buy into it. MOM's always catch fish. It amazes me. i have yet to see a statement. I guess there's no reasoning with my buddy. Some people hve to learn the hard way and it isn't worth exerting the energy on explaining why when they are that committed into their facade marketing. I saw it all too often when I worked down at the board of trade. Same thing: bs Fibonacci indicators and Elliot waves that lost people thousands. What a shame

The guarantee is "I have a play tonight that I will charge you $50 to have - I guarantee it will win -OR- the next play is free."
You don't get your $ back from the service, nor do they cover your losing bet. The next play for free is the guarantee.
They really want as much $ from you up front because the chance of them winning and making money is a little lower than 50% - so they don't want to sell you one $50 pick, they want to sell you a package containing more time, better value (for only $350 it's the whole month, only $11 a day, how much do you usually wager on a game?)
If they don't hit + money that month you get the next month free - there's the guarantee. But you laid out $350.
About once a week they will call you and say something like, "This is a super guarantee solid lock play so bet triple" and when it does hit you remember this special one - and so do they - and then they will try to sell you a package containing only these special ones and they get you for next month for $500 but fewer but stronger plays.
They are really good salesmen and have this schtick down for decades.
Will they have a few winning weeks? Yeah. But so will throwing darts.

I fell for it when I was 19, they promise so much, you're down on your luck, down lots of money you owe the book and not sure how you're going to pay, they promise the guarantees.
I got toasted and was down serious cash with no ability to pay and I called my guy saying, "what am I going to do that play lost I don't have the money I'm freaking out" and the response was, "you know what they say about life" 'click' - hung up because they have to get to the next call, no time to waste it's a numbers game - just like being a stock broker.
Brokers are not allowed to churn and burn - toasting clients just to get a commish - but these sports services are not regulated so they can say and do whatever they want.

There's plenty of free guys. I mean it's as if you were capping a game. Do research on free handicappers and follow them. Make sure they give out accurate results.. Here's my guys I blindly tail on Twitter when my own capping isn't the opposite of them
@SportsBettingPk - Baseball, Basketball, Football
@whale_capper: Tennis
@VegasRefund: Football
There's more too.
Reddit and right here on Covers also has solid cappers. If you take the time to research and do your own "background check" tailing guys can be very profitable.
I actually have 1 guy I pay for MMA and golf. I don't mind admitting it. He's good and I don't know crap about MMA. I'm not going to give his username away as I don't really think it's right to promote a tout on Covers

I thought I would test this guy and make his page more honest by expressing to him what you all have been saying here. Needless to say, he doesn't seem to like me too much. This is my favorite response of his. It's insanely irate, nonsensical, unprofessional (to say the least) and contradictory with what he claims elsewhere on his page.
