Mens hockey betting question.

Sort of new to betting have a question.
On 5 dimes for the mens Group b the odds are as follows:
Canada to win group b -550
Group to win group b +400
And 
Finland win group b +350
Field to win group b -485

Now by my logic why would anyone bet canada -550 when u get them in the last bet field -485....  I'm I missing something here? Same goes with betting Finland +350... Why not just take field +400.....  Can anyone help me out I'm sort of confused!

you're 100% right. if you like finland you might as well take the field

I figured I just wasn't 100% sure. They must get people to bet on Canada just because of the name, instead of seeing they can get them and 2 more teams for less juice!

Not sure how it is interpreted on your site, but when a team is listed, they are not considered part of "the field" which refers to rest of teams.

Lol toasty is a little too toasted. Lemme help you out like puppetm716 said, ur either picking canada (the favorite in this situation) -500 or you can take everyone except canada in group B for +400, basically saying canada does not win.

Lol toasty your wrong. If you like Finland please tell me why the hell you would take the field? So you like Finland to win but you'll put your money on the other teams in the group and not Finland because the odds are better? Ok buddy So take your slow reading and try it yourself. Fuckin people crack me up.  Southpoker was just not understanding the bet, he said he's new to betting, totally fine something's are confusing. He was taking it as a guaranteed win by taking the field not knowing the favorite in the group wasn't included. God bless you toasty

Actually, southpoker is refering to 2 different plays.
 
If he favors Finland to win the group, he is better off playing the top option.
 
If he favors Canada to win the group, he is better off playing the bottom one.
 
(Better off = better value)
 
These types of off-balance plays happen often. Not that I go looking for them, but I see them in my book.

Solo that makes no sense at all to me. Of course it's better value cause it's highly unlikely. If he thinks candada is going to win, he's better off laying off that bet. Why would you bet against what you think is going yo happen just because of better value? That's like saying I'm going to take the Utah jazz moneyline on a +10 spread against the heat, even though you know the heat are going to win but it's better value. No you lay off it. Now if you thought Utah had a chance for an upset then ok you risk it

Typical Jersey.  When something is over your head, just keep talking louder.  If that doesn't work, resort to violence.

South, this is very common for 5dimes.  For example, they will have football futures and props listing the same bet with different odds.  It's always worth looking through everything they have available.

Haha toasty I apologize my man. I'll admit I was wrong I wasn't even looking at the groups. I was focusing on the canada part because he was thinking canada was included in "the group" so that's were I was going. But yes you are right if you liked Finland you would take the group for better odds.
