It’s always scary when you like a side and feel like you’re getting too many points. Anyone betting Chicago today knows what I mean. Personally, I am looking at Dallas but was also surprised to see so many points.
Let’s take a step back though. Connecticut is 5-1 and their only loss came to the Liberty. Without looking deeper and accounting for the Sun reputation, maybe 6.5 isn’t ridiculous. The line was basically the same for their last game but that was in Minnesota whereas this game is at home. In their last home game the line was basically double because they were hosting the Fever. These points of reference make the line seem a bit more reasonable to me.
Dallas enters this game at 3-2 after losing by 1 point in Washington and honestly hasn’t had an impressive win yet. They beat Atlanta by 7, Seattle by 4, and Minnesota by 5. That game against the Mystics felt like a bit of a “prove it” game and the Wings just fell short. Here’s hoping they keep that hunger up.
A few notes on the fade of Connecticut:
- Look ahead to hosting Aces on Tuesday and Thursday.
- 5-1 record despite horrible shooting numbers. They are in the bottom third for FG%, 3pt FGs, 3pt %, FT%, and effective field goal %.
^ this could swing the other way and screw me.
- Sun have been winning games with defence and rebounding. Dallas is 2nd in offensive rating as well as turnovers. Not to mention they are 1st in offensive rebounds. These stats have me thinking they match up well on the court.
Hoping Crystal plays since the Wings will benefit from her ability to handle the ball. Taking a shot, either way.
