Eyes on the Sparks tomorrow. I really don’t think this Mercury team is very good and I don’t see a change in scenery or quick revenge as a big enough reason to back them as favourites. Both teams are 1-2 but the Sparks are on a 2 game losing streak after b2b games against LV (most recently lost by 28 points) and the Mercury are coming off their first win of the season (against 0-6 Minnesota).
Kind of like their male counterparts, I just feel this Mercury team is way too reliant on the play of two stars (aged 32 and 41 in like a week). Don’t get me wrong. They have other solid players that I like but the sum of their parts without Peddy or Skylar to handle the ball is a bit of a mess IMO. Also not a fan of their coach. DT is getting paid way too much and you can see the effects in their roster construction this year.
On the other side, I’ve been really impressed by what I’ve seen from the Sparks. They’ve got good energy and are really playing good team basketball. Waiting to hear about injuries since they had 5 players out last game but I think it’s going to be difficult to pass on. They should be the hungrier team tomorrow night
Really surprised to see 70% on the Mercury so far but I’m not mad about it haha

Good writeup. I'm 1-2 in betting Mercury games yep been on all 3 games so far. they got me the win last time but I'm weary of betting them now that they got a win out of their way. They still got the public sentiment on Griner thus they are overvalued.
Sip on that plus money honey!

Ya very little of the WNBA is in the public eye but people know about Griner and I think people bet on them just because she’s back.
Of course I would love to see her succeed in her return (a sort of revenge tour) and it seems like she will have plenty of individual success this season but I’m not convinced it will translate into wins for her team.

Just me or does this line look a bit odd? I know it’s the Liberty and this team (as well as the Aces) will have some big lines this season, even on the road BUT…
- They were 15 point favourites in Seattle and only win by 8. Probably overlooked a team that was excited to play against the Stew star that left them. - At 3-2, Chicago has looked a lot better than Seattle (0-3) so far. 5 points better? More? Less? - Chicago is coming off their worst game of the season by far. Other loss was by two at home to Washington. We knew going in that this would be a rough spot for Chicago. Should we expect a quick bounce back? - Marina Johannes will debut for NY today. I absolutely love her play and believe she is still very under rated in this league. Last year she made an impact even in her first game with 11pts and 6 assists shooting 4/7 and 3/5 from 3. This year she comes in already having familiarity with Sabrina, Dolson, Laney, and Sandy’s system. - Last but certainly not least, let’s not forget that this was a first round matchup last year. Chicago eliminated New York and even though a lot of pieces have moved around, I think there could still be some revenge in mind for those same holdovers from the 2022 season. Chicago won that game 62-100. Laney, Dolson, and Sabrina COMBINED for 7 points. Marine was scoreless in 12 minutes of play. What better way to make her return than against Chicago?
It doesn’t surprise me to see so many on Chicago with this line but I’m starting to think Liberty are the side to back.
Or maybe I’m just way too excited to see Johannes again

Alright alright, enough talk. Chicago might bounce back but even with the Atlanta loss, it still feels like they have over performed a bit. Liberty get a key piece today who should be ready to play and even just her presence should have an effect on the mood of this team coming in to the game. Chicago gets two shots at the Liberty in this mini-series and likely falls flat in one of them. I’m betting that happens tonight. 1 unit for the situation/line and another for ma gurl Marine.
