Aces take the top seed, Storm 2nd. Sparks and Lynx finish 3rd and 4th and then you have Mercury, Sky, Sun and the Mystics just make it in.
The single elimination games start on the 15th according to the WNBA site.
We have;
Sun vs Sky
Mercury vs Mystics
The winners of those two games go on to play either the Lynx or Sparks. Because Sparks finished 3rd, they play the lowest ranked winner from Round 1 and the Lynx will play the other.
These single elimination games are very hard to cap IMHO and it really comes down to experience, leadership and coaching. All the four teams in those games have decent players, coaches and with no home court advantage this season, its going to be really tough.
There is no mention at all when Round Two will start but the WNBA Finals will definitely start 2nd October so that only gives them 17 days to get the first 3 rounds out of the way. I believe they will start round 2 most likely on the 17th September, then Round 3 would commence on 19th or 20th September and if I series goes the entire 5 games, that means it would finish on the 27th then given the girls some rest before the final series. They might give the girls two days rest in between some of the games in Round 3 rather than play every 2nd day.

Wow. That’s great info Oz, thanks. Just on a once over it looks like the results lean more towards the favs and the overs than not. I only took a mental tally but that seems to be the way it’s gone historically.

Aces Looked dominant in the key as usual & shot more 3’s than normal. I’m not sure if they can continue to play elite teams in the paint. They’ll need to be able to knock down outside shots to have a shot at the title.
The Storm without Bird and Stewie, played better than I expected. They’re obviously the favorites to win it all. Not sure if anyone can match them w/ a ( game series.
My team to lookout for:
Sky - could meet w/ Aces if they win their first 2 games. They beat the Aces twice in regular season. Seems like Aces weakness is defending the perimeter and 3...could be a sleeper pick if the 2 meet up in the Semifinals.
