Big ESPN2 game with Wash visiting Dall. I was on NY at Dall in the early morning tip 2 days ago and they had the lead in the 4th only to piss it away and lose the 9pt cover to boot. Maybe that coach isn't meant to be. Anyways, these teams have a history as Wash eliminated Dall in 1st rd of playoffs last year so of course Dall revenge will be in play.
Couple things I noticed. Wash had 3 opportunities to win that game in Atl and they completely whiffed. I expect them to come out strong to make up for that goof. Meanwhile NY who is not a well coached team played globetrotter defense and allowed Cambage wide open uncontested 3s and 38 FT, that is lazy defense. I still believe that Dall schedule has been brutal playing a game every other day and an early tip. Long story short, I see Dall regressing 1st half as it's very difficult to follow up these performances and this sched and I think EDD and Wash will come out strong 1st half. This seems like a typical ESPN2 game where the fav is down at half and we get an exciting finish as last 2 ESPN2 games have been duds. I'll be betting this game the whole way but like Wash 1st half for sure. This isn't Chi, Indy or NY coming to town this is a playoff team that is looking to right the ship having lost 3 of last 4 and now facing what people seem to forget is a pretty vulnerable Wings defense that has played this their 9th game in July vs. Wash 7th. Wash will be too fast for Dall to start.
