We have just the one game schedule for Wednesday followed by three games on Thursday. This game has me intrigued for some reason because its the high flying Sky against the embarrassing Liberty. Katie Smith was not happy at all for her team to give up 37 points off turnovers and they gave away 30 vs the Wings the game before that. The have committed 38 turnovers in just 2 games. That is just insane. They face a Sky team 2nd last in the league with ball control, as the Sky are giving up 15.8 turnovers a game. The Sky are in a massive look ahead spot, as they head out to face the Aces then onto LA and then LA and Vegas visit Chicago to play the Sky again, so they are in for a very tough schedule in the next 4 games following this game vs NY.
NY can still make the playoffs, they are at 8-13 (9th spot) whilst the Lynx are 11-11 in 8th spot and Storm 12-11 in 7th spot. The Sky have won quite easily against NY this year so far, winning 91-83 in NY on 19 June and then again 99-82 on 12th July.
The alarming thing about backing NY in any game this year is that they don't defend well and especially against the Sky as they have allowed the Sky 90+ points on both occasions which Wade will most likely try to achieve in this game as well, a run and gun style approach.
Now I do like Durr being back, because she was part of the starting 5 which got the NY's season up and running and they went on that nice little 7 wins in 10 game run from June 9 to July 5th but since then, they have gone a crazy 1-6 S/U and now looking like missing the playoffs.
I will be on the Liberty if the line is right because I do believe they will put in a much better performance in this game to try and keep their playoff hopes alive.
