Bad news out of Chicago, Jante Lavender needs foot surgery with at least a 2 month recovery period so one would think she is done. Also, Azura Stevens is out for the season but she has been out for a while now. With the Wings feeling short in this game, my estimation for the line would be Sparks -7 and total of 150. Sun @ MercurySo Griner got her 4 match suspension which she starts now. We all saw what a short-handed Mercury team did to the Mystics but that was Griner who went crazy that game. Without her, Jones should feast in this game. This is the perfect game for the Sun to find some kind of form, especially on the road. The Sun are 2-0 this season vs the Mercury, but both games were at home. If the line is more than -4 Sun, it would be very hard to back them because they are so inconsistent on the road. No injuries for the Sun, and they need a win because the Sparks and Aces are hot on their heels and can catch them if the Sun lose this match and the Sparks/Aces win their next few games. The Sun have 10 games left, they don&#x27;t want to slip up. Those last 10 games, 5 are at home and 5 on the road, so its not going to be easy for them and this game is a must win especially against a depleted Mercury team. Big D as always Question, have you seen the Pistons team wins this season? I am seeing only 36.5 which sees low to me considering the East will be weak and their line-up actually looks decent with Drummond, Griffin, Rose, Reggie Jackson, Tony Snell, Kennard, Markieff Morris and the rest. Just think that&#x27;s a very achievable win target for them in the East.

Agree, the line seems a little low given the Wings are playing with just 8 players and 5 of the are rookies. Sparks are rolling but all at home, haven&#x27;t been on the road since 23rd July. The Wings offense is stagnant and horrendous at times, if Beard plays hen young Arike will not know what to do as Beard will shut her down.

If the Sun cant put a solid performance together tonight against this Mercury team missing BG, Taurasi, Carson, Alanna Smith and Sancho Lyttle then they have some serious issues. They allowed the Aces to shoot too many open 3's against them the other night. The Mercury do have Bonner and Mitchell, both good shooters but they literally have no center for this game. They are going with Turner as their starting centre but she is 6'3 against a 6'5 Jones. Surely the Sun keep this game simple and feed Jones who is looking for a breakout game after some poor nights lately. I missed the opening -4 line because it was released when I was asleep and I was hoping for some line drop but it has been stubborn, hanging around -6.5 and -7.

The upcoming season is anyone&#x27;s to win BigD and that Jazz play is rather juicy and I like it. Conley is a great addition and I think he will thrive in Utah under a good coach and will also help Mitchell gain more and more experience. They have one of the best centres in the game (best defensive centre now doubt) and I also like the additions of Bojan Bogdanovic, Mudiay and Davis. Lets just hope they can stay fit for the majority of the season.

That was ridiculously closer than what it should have been. 58-38 with around 4 mins left in the 3Q, the Sun's capitulated and the refs were just calling too many fouls. We had 48 fouls in that game, 55 free throw attempts.

Alyssa Thomas is now 2-14 from free throws in her last 3 games Surely they pull her back and get her shooting them all night.

The Sparks also didn't play well in the 3rd and 4th quarters and you have to say, this deep into the season no one is going to stop the Mystics. Apart from that terrible game vs Phoenix and the collapse against Seattle in their first meeting, they have looked like a complete team on the road and at home.

Tomorrow is a day off and then Friday night action. Its like this for the next week, with a rest day in between playing days with only 3 playing days over the next 7.
