You can't go as low as the Sun have sunk right now..., oh wait unless you have no players and your number one draft pick who is a superstar in the making is on the shelf for an unspecified time. Such is life with the two sad sack teams in the W right now, the Sun and the Liberty.
The Sun gave a good account of themselves in the first half yesterday, but Bonner was MIA the whole game and they have two ladies that can't shoot the basketball, on the floor for extended minutes without 3 very good shooters to negate their weakness.
So, the sportsbooks are in a place they've been before...both of those teams are gonna be unbackable by the general public and the pros will consider them, but only when the line heads upwards of 12 or more points against decent teams. I suppose the excellent teams may get bored playing those types of teams if they've been playing well and don't have an axe to grind or are in need of a psychological boost.
There's a sportsbook in Oz that puts out early lines, which I surmise is someone making their own outlaw line. Commendable, I applaud that, as most sportsbooks have a herd mentality where they wait for BOL or pinnacle to post and then everyone follows to the letter.
Yesterday they put out the Sky at +8 and it opened elsewhere at 7....not a huge discrepancy.
The indigo lines went 5-1 yesterday....so he's a genius right?
Not exactly......in the past my lines haven't been that predictive, but it's certainly worth keeping an eye on as who knows, perhaps I have reached enlightenment status...hahaha.
Here's what the outlaw numbers look like....mine in brackets.
Sparks -9' 165' (-5 165)
Aces -1' 177' (+2 168)
Lynx -6' 163' (-10 160)
The Lynx line looks ludicrously low,...however we just saw the Sun up in the second half before discombobulating into a squishy mess in the last quarter yesterday.
In the Aces Mystics game, Dirty Bill will have his team do what he did as a player, which was to intimidate highly skilled finesse players in attempt to turn the game into trench warfare. The Mystics are a beautiful team to watch and Bill will try to make the game ugly. I doubt that this will be a face paced game, as the Aces have a lot of physical bigs that will be leaning on the Mystics among other nefarious things.
Leaning UNDER.
I'll say the same for the Sparks...they do well when they turn it into a half court game with their two bigs controlling the game and now they have Augustus who is the same type of player. Fortunately for the Fever they have a very savvy Dupree that can negate one of them. The Fever will be jacking it up....it's what they do. If they are hitting, it looks amazing, which is only some of the time.
If I am the Sparks I don't leave Dupree alone to shoot her 15 foot set shots and I crowd the three point line....the Fever will shoot them anyway because they never saw a three point shot that they didn't love.....just don't let them pick and roll you to death at the three point line,.... make them shoot contested jumpers inside the 3 point line. They've got Sykes who is long and a good defender, so perhaps she'll be guarding Mitchell.
