Howdy everyone... Just getting my thoughts written out for the Friday gals...Remember, only discussion so far, no plays locked in..
Storm @ Sun (Current line is Storm +7)
Well I told UMS that a will not be backing any teams in the 2H of the season that have an offense efficiency under 100 points per 100 possessions because in this league, offense is the biggest key but there is one thing that makes me very drawn to the Storm in this game. Its the rebounding. The Storm are the leagues worst with offensive boards, grabbing just 4.8 per game but the Sun are the league's worst defensive rebounders in the league grabbing just 22 per game. This could be key for Langthorne and the Storm to finally grab a decent amount of offensive boards to give them 2nd chance points. We have all seen the Sun decline since their amazing start to the season and with both teams desperate now to get into the top 4 of their conferences, I would have to take the points in this game. When you look at all categories such as 2pg%, 3PG%, free throw%, steal and T/O's, the Storm are better than the Sun in most of them. I think this game will be close and that +7 is too much to give the Storm. Both teams have played the Mystics as well recently in high scoring games which is rare, so I lean the under in this game because both teams have plenty on the line.
Dream @ Lynx (Current line Dream +12)
Angel is probable, she hurt herself apparently in their blowout loss to the Stars. Didn't see what happened to her but if she is only at 50%, lights out. Who is going to guard Fowles in the paint, who is going to guard Moore from draining 3's like a pornstar drains b@lls. Who is going to stop Brunson, Cruz and the rest of the Lynx crew... Reeve vs Pokey? Well I know which way I lean.. Waiting for a line drop hopefully in this game before taking the Lynx..
Mystics @ Stars (Current line Stars +1.5)
This league is one of the hardest leagues to find injuries. Who knew that Perkins returned for the Stars the other day? Donbest didn't. They had her down out indefinitely. Stars home court has been dominate of late, their away form horrendous. Amazingly this team is battling it out for the 4th position in the West which is amazing after their terrible season. Still, lean the Mystics in this game as well as I think they have turned a corner this season and have the weapons to drain 3's against the leagues 3rd worst defending team.
Sparks @ Sky: (Current line is Sparks +5.5)
Lean Sparks. Yep, i said it. I lean the Sparks vs this Sky team that has over achieved recently. The Sparks actually kept it competitively vs the Lynx the other day. Parker back definitely added some energy to this team. Phillips missed the last game. This team is finally getting their pieces together and I actually think they might get their first road win of the season vs the Sky. I don't trust the Sky at all. Never have when you have Cappie in your squad. The only issue I have is EDD. Who is going to defend her? Nneka. She might but won't stop her. It might take an ugly night of shooting from EDD for the Sparks to win this game but the Sparks have done well recently apart from their ugly loss at home vs the Liberty. Will wait to see where the line moves in this game as well.
