Ok, the 2nd final day of regular season gets under way in around 9 hours. Some massive games for seeding and as explained yesterday, the Sparks cannot move from 3rd and the Mercury cannot move from 8th. All other teams can move around still.

Wings @ Mystics
Wings will be without Thornton and McGee-Stafford once again. Arike is playing 30+ minutes per game but she is young and fit so why not. They will be decent next season with Skylar and Jefferson back. They can rebound the ball which is great and they grab some many offensive rebounds as well. Add that with Skylar's good looks and pace and they will be in the playoffs next year. Mystics just need to win, that's all they need to do to keep down 1st seed. By the looks of it, Toliver and Powers will be out but Hawkins should be back after her 1 game rest. This line should be around Mystics -15.5 and total of 163.

Fever @ Liberty
Not going to exhaust my mind on this game. If people want to cap it fair enough, the Fever looked to be without Achonwa and the Liberty missing Durr. The only light that is shining on Pokey right now is McCowan, she has just been beasting the last few games she has started, pity it took Pokey 20 odd games to realise this. She will be out of a job I think after this season. Guessing line will be PK and 158 total.

Sky @ Sun
If the Sky want some kind of hope, they need to win this game. The Aces take on Mercury in their last game and if the Sky can somehow manage a win in this game, that would give the Mystics the top seed if they beat the Wings (which they should). Now that sets it up really well because would Thibault rest his players on the final game if what I just said happens? The Mystics face Sky in the final game on Sunday. If the Sky wins this, they tie the Aces on wins, but Aces own the tie-breaker. The 4th seed plays the Mystics in the semi's. Would the Mystics want to play the Aces or the Sky in the semi's if they reach that far? The Sky need to win this game first for that to potentially happen but I don't believe its that far fetched. Not saying the Earth is flat, just saying the Mystics can control certain teams destiny and they would also need the Aces to lose to Mercury on Sunday. Line Should be Sun -5.5 and total of 167.

Lynx @ Mercury
Taurasi is now 4-39 from the floor, the Mercury need a big win just to get some confidence back. They do like playing the Lynx and Brondello vs Reeve is always fun. The Lynx need to win because if they lose this, they drop to 7th because the Storm has the tie-breaker. Both teams seem to be healthy with no new injuries. The line should be Mercury -4 and 151 total.

What an incredible game.. Sky wins. Mystics take 1st seed. Now does Thibault rest players on Sunday and try to allow the Sky finish 4th so they have a potential match to against them? Aces would have to lose against Mercury which isn’t too far fetched given how bad the Aces were against the Dream.

Missed this post Bananagod. Didn't have  lean in this game because Mercury have zero to play for. Looking at the game now, I have no idea what Mercury are doing in this 3Q.

So the Lynx are up 69-50 just before the end of the 3Q so they won't let that lead slide.

So this is what we have for Sunday games.

1. Mystics (clinched 1st seed, may rest players)
2. Sun (cannot move from 2nd)
3. Sparks (locked in 3rd)
4. Aces (can slip down to 5th if they lose to Mercury)
5. Sky (can go to 4th if they beat Mystics and Aces lose to Mercury, cannot finish lower than 5th)
6. Lynx (can slide to 7th if they lose to the Sparks and Storm beat the Wings)
7. Storm (can go to 6th if they beat the Wings and the Lynx lose to the Sparks)
8. Mercury (locked into 8th seed)

All games on Sunday start at the same time. The big games that have significance are;

Sky @ Mystics
Aces @ Mercury
Storm @ Wings
Lynx @ Sparks

Remember, the first round begins on 11th September, 5th vs 8th and 6th vs 7th. Winner goes to Round 2 to face the Sparks and either Aces/Sky.

Because Sparks got 3rd seed, they will play the lowest ranked team to come out of Round 1, Aces/Sky will pay the highest ranked teams from Round 1.

So now the first round will definitely see the Lynx play the Storm, just need to see where because home court hasn't been decided yet.

Mercury will play either the Aces or the Sky.

If the Mercury allow the Aces to win on Sunday, the Mercury will travel to Chicago to face the Sky, the Sky have beaten them 3-0 this season winning by 7, 8 and 27.

If the Mercury can actually beat the Aces and the Sky beat a potential depleted Mystics team, then the Mercury would travel to Las Vegas and play the Aces, the Aces and Mercury are 1-1 in that series with both games decided by 5 points or less.

Cheers Wagers. If the Aces win, they claim 4th spot and get a first round bye. They have the tie breaker over Sky. If they finish 4th, they play the highest ranked winner from first round.
