(Note** Everything is one unit, still getting a handle on the WNBA)
Spreads from Bookmaker
Saturday plays:
Con -7
Tulsa +7.5
Tulsa/ATL over 155
NY begins the season as Laimbeer takes the reins with something to prove. Yes they have an old roster, but they'll start the season strong before falling off as the fatigue sets in. NY returns 4 of top 5 scorers and adds some depth, but Connecticut is on a mission. Strong roster stability and tons of people ready to step into the void Asjha Jones is leaving. They might not have enough in their reserves to take the East, but they have enough to take care of NY while Laimbeer puts things back together over the long term.
Tulsa has put together an impressive assemblage of pieces. A team that has won 18 total games in the last three season COMBINED has amassed some high draft picks (that's what happens when you're terrible three straight years) including this years addition of Skylar Diggens to go with Cambage and Johnson. Ivory Latta left for Washington, but I don't think they'll miss her scoring with all the new additions. Young roster that I expect to improve over the course of the season, but I think they'll shock (sorry for reducing this to puns...) early on. The Dream also restocked and retooled, but their pieces aren't as impressive. Books are low on Tulsa right now given their poor performance in previous years, but they'll be a live dog most nights.
As for the total, I think this is low and will rise from now til game time. Tulsa and the Dream will both be able to score and will look to push the pace. ATL can't protect the rim and I expect Tulsa to get easy buckets throughout the night.
BOL to you all and go get em!
