Well its the final day of the 1H of the season before the gals go and rest or play in the All-Star game and I will go to the CFL forum for a few days. Been a very interesting season with the Sun and Shock beating teams early on but now starting to decline whilst the amazing Lynx continue to do their thing. Liberty are the most improved team in the league since last year after getting rid of Cappie. Great move. Anyways, my thoughts for tomorrow.
Sun @ Lynx (Current line is Sun +7.5 and 146.5)
What is with this line? Seems kind of fishy considering better teams have gotten more points in Minny. Whalen is OUT for this game and Augustus has missed the last 2 and is out for a month. Interesting. I remember last season, Sun went to Minnesota as a +14 underdog and took the Lynx to OT to only lose by 3 points but that was when the Sun's rookie of the year, Chiney was fit and playing. Different looking Sun roster this year to last. That small line is begging for some Lynx action but im not sure if people realise that Whalen is out. I think the Lynx will do enough to get a win but maybe not cover. The line opened at +10 and dropped 3 points mainly because of the Whalen injury. Also think that the Sun need to turn their season around as they are needing a big performance as they are slipping down the rankings in the East.
Liberty @ Sparks ( Current line is Sparks +1 and 146.5)
The Sparks finally won a game LOL. Wow. Can't believe it. Will that be the start of a run now? They get Parker back after ASG so they might be able to get another win tomorrow vs the Liberty who are on B2B after tonight's game vs the Storm. I generally like to back the home team when both teams are on B2B's. Liberty's defense is a worry though. They might be able to keep hold of the SParks to a low score but I also think that today's win for the Sparks might be a good motivation factor for this team before they take a break. The Sparks don't have anyone to stop Charles but they also didn't have anyone to stop BG today but somehow managed a win.
No plays yet, just thoughts for now. BOL forum.

you and other cappers mentioned this before but wondering if dogs won that many times in previous seasons in wnba? i guess you are keeping a database, it is awkward for dogs win ratio, i didnt save this year but today they went 5-0 (considering seattle win also), that being said as a big balancing kind of guy, i wont get surprised if favs cover both today

Tough games IMO. Like you Aussie ive been waiting for that spark from la to get their season on a good note, however much like the warriors last year (I expected them to fall hard) will it happen? Liberty have barely any matchup advantage. Really on team you could argue sparks have a much better team (love Tina Charles though). Maybe way to go.
I was thinking under for the minny game since Whalen was out but it's a small Line: lynx have the best d in the league but last game before break, two big players out for them. Call me crazy but I'm thinking over now. Leaning suns as well because lynx for majority of the season haven't looked so special, now take away two major players for them and it could even be an upset

Hey Guy,
I haven't keep a record on how dogs have covered in previous seasons but I believe they do cover at a very high rate. If you take the Lynx out of the equation and didn't bet their games, I think you would have made a nice profit backing the underdogs in other games. Lynx have been a covering machine the last 3 seasons (apart from the odd games here and there) as fav's and the Shock have been covering machines as underdogs last 3 seasons as well.

Can't believe the Sun won S/U today in Minny. It was almost like a carbon copy of last season's game in Minny but this time the Sun take away the win. Maya took a crazy 32 shots but only hit 9. I guess the motivation was more there for the Sun to get a win rather than the Lynx who are sitting pretty in 1st in the West.
Last game is a tricky one. Does NY just want to end this road trip and go home and enjoy the break sitting in 1st in the East whilst the Sparks are sitting last in the West and if they win this game they will be equal with the Storm but still last as the Storm have the tie-breaker on them.

I'm gonna be backing the sparks today Aussie. I think New York had a good run on the trip and getting home sitting first is all that matters. If they didn't win in Phoenix then maybe I consider them but obviously that's not the case. Back to back home games are easier than back to back road games.

Leaning that way as well Eezy. I think this game sets up nicely for the Sparks to get a win at home before having a break, then get Parker back for a 2H season run. Liberty are good on B2B's but I think winning 2 on the road is good and the third game may not matter to them. They might just want to get home and rest up.

Taking the over with both teams on B2B. I did lean the Sparks ATS but I cannot put my cash on them to cover the spread. The spread is fishy as well. Opened as Liberty -1 and now Sparks -1.5. Usually don't like taking those kind of spreads. In regards to the over, I do think this game will be close and very contactable so free throws will be high in this game IMHO. The last meeting saw 79-70 win for the Liberty in NY. That was backed on both teams only shooting 60 shots each with the Sparks hitting 22 of their 60 and the Liberty hitting 29 of their 60. Free throws combined were 35-44 and 3's were 12-31 which is pretty good for both teams. Erin Phillips missed the last game and she was poor yesterday vs the Mercury but I think she wakes up in this game and puts up some solid points. Also apart from Charles yesterday, the remaining Liberty girls shot just 21-48 combined as a team. I think that might be slightly better as well and more shots from the team. It will be close IMHO, maybe something along the lines of 78-74 either way.

Well you get that in the WNBA sometimes. Both teams have packed up their bags already and looking forward to the break. Not a good play from me and thats probably the reason why I shy away from totals. See you all in a few days.
