For 20 years, Wynn Las Vegas has been more than just a resort – it’s been a symbol of luxury and unforgettable experiences. Its timeless design, both inside and out, draws visitors from around the world.

Once inside Wynn Las Vegas, guests enter a world of elegance and glamour. Gamblers can choose from various games on the main casino floor, multiple high-limit gaming lounges, and a massive race and sportsbook. The second-to-none customer service touches every part of the property, from the serene spa to restaurants that might be led by Michelin-starred chefs.

Wynn Las Vegas has catered to high-end visitors since Day 1. While the Ferrari dealership is no longer on-site, guests can visit the McLaren showroom or browse the opulent Wynn Plaza Shops for unique gifts for themselves or someone special.

After expanding with the Encore Tower, Wynn began attracting both younger and older high rollers. From the dayclub and nightclub to the chic, modern design of the tower, the evolution has drawn a new generation of guests while staying true to its luxury roots.

Much has changed over the past 20 years, but one thing remains constant: Wynn Las Vegas continues to stand as one of the premier destinations in the city.

Defining Moments by Year

2005: The $2.7-billion Wynn Las Vegas opens. The luxury resort features 2,716 rooms and suites, a large casino, a golf course, the Le Rêve stage show, a Ferrari-Maserati dealership, and 18 restaurants, including Wing Lei – the first Chinese restaurant in the U.S. to earn a Michelin Star.

2008: The $2.3-billion Encore Tower opens. The youthfully inspired expansion adds 2,034 suites (no standard rooms), five restaurants, two nightclubs, another casino, retail shops, a spa, and a salon. Altogether, Wynn cost more than $5 billion to build.

2009: XS opens on New Year’s Eve 2008-2009 and becomes one of the most influential nightlife experiences in Las Vegas. The indoor/outdoor nightclub cost an unprecedented $100 million to build and features Roger Thomas design elements like those found in the casino it’s located in. It remains one of the few nightclubs still standing after 20 years in business.

2009: Garth Brooks’ five-year residency begins. Instead of performing nightly like traditional Las Vegas residencies, he played sporadically throughout the year. This limited engagement model has since become the norm. The 187 shows inspired the album "Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences."

2010: Encore Beach Club opens and leads the way for dayclub growth throughout Las Vegas. Like XS, it was a game-changer and remains one of the city’s most popular venues. Unlike many dayclubs, ECB offers a true luxe experience and features some of the world’s most famous DJs and celebrities.

2012: Mr. Wynn becomes a vegan and requires every restaurant at Wynn and Encore to offer a full vegan menu in addition to traditional offerings. This was groundbreaking, as most casino restaurants at the time had only a couple of plant-based options available by request. This shift helped kick off a broader movement toward plant-based dining in Las Vegas.

2014: "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2" begins filming at Wynn Las Vegas. The Kevin James film, released in 2015, was the first to be filmed on the property. Most scenes take place inside the casino, and Mr. Wynn makes a cameo. While not a box office hit, the movie offers plenty of Vegas eye candy.

2017: Wynn Las Vegas becomes the first resort in the world to install Amazon Echo devices in every room, allowing guests to use Alexa to control smart features. While this kept Wynn ahead of the tech curve, the feature received mixed reviews – some loved the convenience, and others voiced privacy concerns.

2018: Two expansion projects are canceled. Construction on the lagoon-based Wynn Paradise Park, which would have taken over nine holes of the golf course, is halted. The proposed Wynn West on the opposite side of the Strip was never started. The golf course is redesigned, and the land across the street remains vacant.

2018: Steve Wynn steps down as chairman and CEO of the company he founded following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

2018: Wynn Plaza opens. The high-end, two-level shopping plaza replaces the original Ferrari dealership and poker room (now located in Encore). It also replaces some of the property's landscaping and could eventually connect via bridge to a future expansion across Las Vegas Blvd.

2019: Falcons are added to the Wynn Las Vegas team. These birds of prey aren’t killers – they’re trained to scare off nuisance birds like pigeons from pool and restaurant areas. They're still on duty today.

2019: Wynn Las Vegas makes celebrity headlines as Prince Harry racks up a $38,000 bill during a wild weekend that included leaked nude photos of the royal visiting from England.

2020: Sebastian Maniscalco performs at a 40,000-square-foot outdoor venue that opens just as the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic. This marks the beginning of a lasting partnership. He is now a resident performer and recorded his 2022 Netflix special, Is It Me? at Wynn Las Vegas.

2020: Wynn Rewards replaces the Red Card loyalty program used for the first 15 years. This updated, multi-tier system also works with Encore Boston Harbor and offers more transparent point-earning options than its predecessor.

2021: The Wynn Field Club is announced at Allegiant Stadium. This unique nightclub-like space located inside a football stadium spans 11,000 square feet across the north end zone. With couches, bottle service, and its own DJs, it’s not only a new revenue stream but also a live commercial for Wynn during Raiders games.

2022: Awakening debuts as a replacement for Le Rêve, the original stage show. It takes five years and $120 million to produce the 80-minute show, which opens to mixed reviews. After being retooled in 2024, it finds a more receptive audience.

2024: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce celebrate the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII win with chicken tenders and fries at XS Nightclub.

2025: Wynn Las Vegas continues to evolve. The Fairway Villas are updated, and all suites in the Encore Tower are receiving a facelift.
