If the Dallas Mavericks win their conference title, one savvy bettor will make $98,750 on their $50 three-leg parlay.

The Mavericks lead the Timberwolves 1-0 in the Western Conference Championship series. On December 29, 2023, however, Dallas was a longshot to win their conference. In fact, the odds of a Mavs conference victory were 15-to-1 at the time. But now the team is just three wins away from a conference win, and one lucky bettor is just three wins away from scoring a $98,750 win on a $50 3-leg parlay.

The bet was recently revealed by Ben Fawkes on the social media site X, formerly Twitter.

Football first

While we don’t know the bettor’s identity, there are a few things we do know. The three-leg parlay was placed with Caesars Sportsbook late last year. When Michigan topped Washington for the 2024 NCAA College Football Championship, the first leg of the parlay, secured at +550, scored.

The second leg of the parlay was a Super Bowl exacta, betting the Chiefs to win over the 49ers. Back then, that exacta was offered at +1800.

Now, everything hinges on a Mavericks Western Conference victory.

Dallas a plucky underdog

At one point, the Mavericks were down 17 points in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the top-seeded Oklahoma Thunder. But the Mavs, aided by a Luka Doncic triple-double, prevailed over the Thunder 117-116 to make their way to the Western Conference Finals.

The Mavs edged out the Timberwolves in Game 1 with a 108-105 victory. Game 2 is scheduled for Friday night, when the mystery parlay bettor could get one game closer to a near six-figure payout.
