In partnership with Sony Pictures Television and IGT, BetMGM has announced the launch of its "Wheel of Fortune" Online Casino in Ontario. This marks BetMGM’s second brand-led casino launch in North America, following its initial release in New Jersey in Mar. 2023.
Ontario players can now enjoy a range of exclusive branded slots, including Wheel of Fortune Megaways," "Wheel of Fortune Power Wedges," and many more. In total, the Wheel of Fortune Online Casino offers more than 1,600 other slots, progressive jackpots, and table games, with titles to be added regularly.
The casino is available for download on both the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android) and can be accessed via a desktop or mobile web browser.
"Bringing Wheel of Fortune Casino to Ontario is a part of our strategy to give players the games they love and create an engaging experience with an iconic game show,” says Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer of BetMGM. “In collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and IGT, we’ve created something that is unlike anything else in the online gaming sector.”
Success in New Jersey
The Ontario launch comes a little over a year after the casino successfully debuted in New Jersey, which went live not long after longtime co-host Vanna White celebrated her 40th season with the show.
“Wheel of Fortune slots have been top-performing games for decades and through a successful launch in New Jersey, we’ve found that the brand-led Wheel of Fortune Casino product is a winning formula that resonates with players,” added Prevost.
"It’s exciting to see BetMGM extend the success of the Wheel of Fortune Casino to Ontario,” commented Suzanne Prete, president of Game Shows at Sony Pictures Television. “BetMGM’s Wheel of Fortune Casino creates an inviting space for players to enjoy all of their favorite IGT Wheel of Fortune games in one place and in a way that resonates with slot players and game show fans alike."
The Ontario iGaming market
Ontario’s iGaming market officially launched on Apr. 4, 2022, ending the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s monopoly over gambling in the province. Now, Ontario is home to more than 75 regulated online gambling sites.
The full list of operators is available on the iGaming Ontario (iGO) website, including big-name brands like FanDuel, BetMGM, and DraftKings.
"Ontario is a dynamic iGaming market that readily embraces omnichannel IGT PlayDigital games such as Wheel of Fortune slots,” said Gil Rotem, IGT PlayDigital President. “BetMGM’s brand-led Wheel of Fortune Casino packages many of IGT PlayDigital’s highest performing games in a great-looking, player-friendly manner that is unique for the Ontario iGaming market."
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and its subsidiary, iGO, are responsible for the oversight of gambling in the province.
