U.S. sportsbook and online casino operator BetMGM has announced it has signed an agreement with the MLB to become the official bullpen sponsor of the 2024 MLB playoffs.
BetMGM branding will be visible in every bullpen in every stadium during MLB playoff games. Additionally, BetMGM has released a new bullpen-themed promotion for sports betting customers, the $50,000 Bullpen Jackpot.
“Sponsoring the bullpen is an incredible opportunity for BetMGM to expand our brand by being front and center during key playoff action,” said Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer at BetMGM. “We already established ourselves as the home of the regular season home run, and the BetMGM Bullpen Jackpot allows us to build upon that momentum by giving customers a stake in every swing throughout the postseason.”
BetMGM also announced that it will provide more markets than ever for the 2024 playoffs, highlighting the inclusion of series home run leaders, series home runs for players, and head-to-head matchups in this year’s options.
BetMGM continues with MLB partnerships
BetMGM has a long history of cooperation with MLB, including becoming the league's first official gaming sponsor in 2018. In 2022, the organization renegotiated this contract to become an official sports betting partner, allowing BetMGM to market its sportsbook across MLB Network, MLB.com, and various MLB apps.
Along with partnerships with the MLB itself, BetMGM has also signed several agreements with MLB franchises. BetMGM is the official sports betting partner of the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Home run betting increases year-over-year at BetMGM
There has been a 256% increase in home run betting on the MLB year-over-year at BetMGM. The company chalks the increase up to the integration of Angstrom, a sports analytics company owned by BetMGM Entain, which allowed the sportsbook to increase its range of home run markets.
With the new $50,000 Bullpen Jackpot promo, when a player hits a home run into a bullpen, any BetMGM customer who placed a qualifying wager on that player to hit a home run that day will collect a share of a $50,000 prize pool. The prizes will be awarded in bonus bets.
The promo is not available to BetMGM players in Nevada or Puerto Rico. While those partkaing in Nevada sports betting can’t access these BetMGM benefits, the online sportsbook now allows Nevada bettors to fund their accounts and carry those funds to any U.S. state.
The bonus will replace the Grand Slam Jackpot, which ran through the 2024 regular season and paid out $1.85 million in bonus bets.
