BetMGM is making news yet again, this time, announcing an agreement made with the Associated Press (AP) that is set to make the sports betting and iGaming operator the official sports odds provider for the global news organization. This follows several previous moves made by BetMGM to expand its reach and influence in other industries.
As a result of BetMGM’s partnership with AP, the sports betting operator will have its odds appear in AP’s daily sports odds fixtures, game previews, and other sports stories that include odds.
FanDuel was the previous odds provider for the AP, reaching their agreement in 2021.
“It is a special opportunity for BetMGM to align with The Associated Press, a leading global news source that billions around the world rely on for the most up-to-date coverage,” BetMGM chief revenue officer Matt Prevost said in a statement. “Being a trusted resource within that forum is an important connection to expand our reach, and we look forward to providing content that enhances the organization’s coverage.”
BetMGM expansion
BetMGM has been focused on expanding its reach, of late. The sportsbook earned sponsorship during Wheel of Fortune’s “Big Money Week” on May 20-24, getting its name on a Nightly Progressive Jackpot for contestants who solve the show’s Bonus Puzzle. Plus, two wedges branded “Double Jackpot” on the Wheel, along with graphics of the BetMGM logo on the host’s monitor and displayed on the center monitor, in addition to a BetMGM jackpot ticker appearing above the puzzle board during each episode.
Another big partnership with Marriot Bonvoy was announced in March, which lets BetMGM customers link their BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy accounts, earning BetMGM Rewards points to exchange for points at Marriott Bonvoy. Whether earning points on BetMGM online sportsbook or its vast catalog of iGaming products, players can exchange up to 100,000 points per year to redeem rewards that include free nights at Marriott Bonvoy hotels and exclusive access to games, experiences, and other lucrative offers.
BetMGM also partnered with social media giant X back in February to provide an odds feature with direct links to BetMGM online sportsbook for all registered users on X. This feature was implemented ahead of Super Bowl 58, with numerous other online sports betting markets added on X since its inception.
