Despite being the largest underdogs in NBA Finals history, the Indiana Pacers received $10,000 worth of support from one confident sports bettor.
OddsStack endorsed a post that said one of its users risked $10,000 on the Pacers to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder at +475 odds, which would win $47,500.
Key takeaways
- The user claimed to be part of a group that calls itself the best at sports betting.
- The Pacers at +500 odds would tie the largest NBA Finals upset ever.
- A BetMGM customer wagered $1.05 million on the Thunder to win the afternoon of tip-off.
A popular X account “LakeShowYo” posted on Wednesday evening a bet slip that showed the $10,000 wager. The account belonging to OddsStack, tagged in the caption, reposted the image and commented with two pairs of eye emojis underneath.

OddsStack’s bio calls itself a “Pro sports betting group.” A link highlighted on the profile leads to a Linktree-style website that called OddsStack “The #1 Sports Bettor on Instagram.”
To say the wager is against the grain is putting it mildly. The Pacers, +500 underdogs at most major sportsbooks, would tie the 2003-04 Detroit Pistons for the largest series underdogs to win the NBA Finals after they defeated the L.A. Lakers in five games.
Additionally, the Pacers opened as even bigger longshots in many books.
Betting splits aren't widely available for series bets, although Yahoo Sports’ Ben Fawkes reported that 94% of bets and 85% of money at BetMGM is on the Pacers to win the series.
Both FanDuel and DraftKings also reported more bets on the Pacers at +9 in Game 1 than the Thunder at -9. Circa Sports, known for serving sharp bettors, also had more bets and money on the Pacers in the Game 1 spread market.
A force on and off the court
The Pacers face an uphill battle to take down the Thunder, whose 68-14 regular-season record topped the rest of the NBA. OKC also went 2-0 straight-up and against the spread in two head-to-head matchups with Indy thanks to wins of 6 and 21 points, respectively.
The Thunder also finished second in all-time regular-season net rating (+12.8) and outscored their opponents by 11.2 points per 100 possessions in the playoffs. That soared to 24.7 points per 100 possessions on their home floor, where they went 34-14-2 (70.8%) against the spread during both the regular and postseason.
OKC also has backing from a rare seven-figure bettor. Fawkes reported the afternoon of the Game 1 tip-off that a BetMGM user bet $1.05 million on the Thunder at -700 odds, which would pay $150,000 for a win.
That bet is the Finals' largest reported wager at the time of writing.
