Before the Saturday NFL playoff slate started, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, and the NFL, announced that Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers-versus-Buffalo Bills game would be moved to Monday afternoon due to the approaching winter storm.

NFL weather postponements are rare during the postseason, the last one being seven years ago when a Steelers-Kansas City Chiefs game was pushed from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Totals market always moving

The Over/Under for this game has seen large swings since the odds were posted and Saturday’s announcement brought more changes. The total was initially set at around 43 points but was bet down as the storm became more apparent, dropping to 34.5.

Now with the game moved a day later, sportsbooks have moved the line back up, hitting 39 a couple hours after the postponement.

While some lucky bettors can hedge out and play the middle, many are stuck in an unfortunate situation. And others may no longer have a position in this game at all, thanks to how each sportsbook handles postponements.

Voided or In Play

Every sportsbook is different in how they handle postponements. Some operators void bets if a game is pushed by 12 hours, others must be pushed to the next week. While other bets on this game may not move based on the change in schedule, your bets may also be voided.

For those with bets on this game, the thread below shows what each sportsbook requires before a bet is voided.

For example, all bets are action at books such as DraftKings, FanDuel, and bet365.

  • DraftKings: Action
  • FanDuel: Action
  • ESPN Bet: Action
  • BetMGM: Void
  • Caesars: Action
  • bet365: Action
  • Circa: Action
  • SuperBook: Action
  • Hard Rock Bet: Action

There hasn’t been anything announced with the Miami Dolphins-Chiefs game on Saturday night as it approaches record-low temperatures, but it's still good to know how your sportsbook operator handles these scenarios.
