Gambling giant Caesars Entertainment has officially launched its newest online casino in the Michigan market Monday, through a partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. The Horseshoe Online Casino is now available in the state via mobile or desktop browser and the dedicated casino app, which is free to install from the App Store and Google Play.
Initial plans for the Horseshoe Online Casino were unveiled in February after Caesars acquired WynnBET’s Michigan iGaming operations. According to the official press release, the company also plans to extend the platform to other Caesars Digital iGaming states, such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Horseshoe Online Casino joins Caesars Entertainment’s portfolio of online betting sites. Among these are Caesars Palace Online Casino, Caesars Sportsbook & Casino, Harrah’s Online Casino, Tropicana Online Casino, and WSOP.COM.
The gaming experience
Horseshoe Online Casino offers a multi-lobby layout designed to replicate a real-life casino floor, with dedicated sections for high-limit slots, linked progressive jackpots, poker and roulette variations, private live dealer tables, and more.
The casino also houses a selection of exclusive Horseshoe-branded games developed through Caesars’ partnerships with top game developers. Titles include Horseshoe Rising Rewards by Games Global, Horseshoe 3 Coin Cowboy from Bragg Gaming, 2x3x Horseshoe by AGS, and Horseshoe Slick Riches LuckyTap, created by Design Works Gaming.
Players can also earn credits as they play, as the platform is linked to the Caesars Reward program. Credits can be redeemed for exclusive prizes at Caesar' North American destinations, including VIP nightlife and culinary experiences.
Legendary brand
The online casino pays homage to the Horseshoe brand, which has been around since 1951 when Texas gambler Benny Binion bought the Eldorado Club and Hotel Apache and opened them as Binion’s Horseshoe, also known as the Horseshoe Casino. The Horseshoe brand was first owned by MGM and named the MGM Grand, and was later sold to Bally’s for $550 million in 1986.
Caesars acquired the Horseshoe brand in 2004 and now operates ten properties under the name across the U.S, including Horseshoe Las Vegas in Nevada, which rebranded from Bally’s Las Vegas in 2022.
“The Horseshoe brand is anchored by a promise to put the player first,” commented Matt Sunderland, Caesars Digital’s senior VP and chief iGaming officer. “A brand with such a storied past deserves an online equivalent that pays respect to the legacy it has established in gaming, and that is what we’ve created with Horseshoe Online Casino.
This launch reinforces our multi-brand online casino strategy by seamlessly bringing another one of our world-class Caesars brands into the palms of players’ hands.”
