There are just 660 entries still competing for the $25-million grand prize in the Circa Sports Survivor contest after a hectic Week 7 of the NFL season. And only three entrants remain vying for the $7.7-million jackpot in the Circa Grandissimo contest.

The losses by the Houston Texans and New York Jets took out 43% of the Survivor entries and cut the Grandissimo pool in half. Those 660 entries now carry an implied value of $37,905. The value of the remaining Grandissimo entries are $2.56 million.

Key Takeaways
  • 97% of the original field has been knocked out of the Circa Survivor contest.
  • The Grandissimo contest has seen 96% of its total entries eliminated.
  • 50% of Grandissimo contestants eliminated on Texans loss.

Houston was the second-most popular Week 7 pick in the Circa Survivor contest, accounting for 303 of the 1,275 live entries entering the week. The Texans closed as -10.5 home favorites against the New York Giants, but Big Blue pulled off the 27-21 upset in overtime, eliminating nearly one-quarter of the contestants.

The Giants weren’t the only New York team shaking up the contest, though, as the Jets’ loss to the Dolphins also impacted the field. New York's loss took out 256 contestants, or 20% of the Week 7 entries.

And while it’s not nearly as noteworthy as the 43% of entries eliminated by taking the Texans and Jets, the Carolina Panthers got blown out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, wiping out another 54 selections.

The Minnesota Vikings were the most popular pick this week and they needed a comeback to defeat the Indianapolis Colts, otherwise, it could’ve been a complete bloodbath at the top of the contest.

Of the original 25,017 entries, 97% of that field has been eliminated from the contest.

“What’s made this year so unique is the combination of the largest field we’ve ever had and the repeated upsets of the most popular selections,” Circa Sports director of operations Jeff Benson said in a release. “The dynamics of Survivor are familiar, but with this many entries, the absolute number of eliminations is unprecedented in scale. The field is shrinking faster than in most recent seasons, and every remaining entry is becoming increasingly more valuable.”

Grandissimo could crown a winner soon

The Circa Sports Grandissimo contest, which required a $100,000 entry fee, is down to three live entries. There were six contestants heading into Week 7, but half of them selected the Texans. Devin Singletary scored a walk-off touchdown in overtime for the Giants, halving the remaining field.

That aforementioned comeback win by the Vikings proved to be huge, as two of the six entries were on Minnesota. The other remaining selection was on the Denver Broncos, who beat the Arizona Cardinals 30-16.

Moving on to Week 8 are DEGENCHAT-2 (Vikings), JIMMYSHIVEOVERLY-1 (Vikings), and TWEENTHEHEDGES-1 (Broncos).
