The Los Angeles Dodgers had never not been favored to win the World Series in 2026 – until they ran into the Milwaukee Brewers, who now hold a 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series.
BetMGM has the Brewers as +105 favorites to win the World Series, while the Dodgers (+340) are still second, despite facing a 0-2 hole.
- The Brewers didn’t move into the top two until September.
- BetMGM lists the Brewers as -300 favorites to win the series.
- This is the first time the Brewers have been World Series favorites since 2011.
BetMGM listed the Dodgers at +225 in odds the day before the season began on March 25, according to Sports Odds History, putting the two-time defending champions significantly ahead of the rest of the field. The New York Yankees (+1,000), Toronto Blue Jays (+1,300) and Seattle Mariners (+1,300) were dubbed the closest contenders, while 12 teams were listed ahead of the Brewers (+3,000).
That all changed after Milwaukee took Game 1 and was listed at +175 in World Series odds – a tick ahead of the Dodgers’ +180.
The Brew Crew followed their series-opening victory with an emphatic Game 2 result, winning 7-4 on their home field. They logged nine more hits (12-3) than their NL opponents and never trailed, aside from the opening half-inning.

Sportsbooks now have the Brewers, who had the best regular-season record, as the consensus favorite to win the next world title. BetMGM lists them at +105, which suggests they have a 48.8% chance of winning the title.
This is the first time the Brewers have been favored in the market since 2011, according to Sports Odds History, when they had the best regular-season record in baseball but lost in the NLCS.
World Series odds movement
Despite their small market, the Brewers have been a force in recent years. They have won at least 92 games in four straight seasons and had the best record in 2026 (103-59).
The NL Central champs’ playoff run began with a 3-1 series victory over the San Diego Padres in the NLDS. They beat the Dodgers in their regular-season series, 4-3, and now hold a one-game lead over them in the NLCS. However, it took until September for sportsbooks to move them into the top-two in World Series odds, tied with the Yankees at +800 to the Dodgers’ +175.
BetMGM lists the Brewers as -300 favorites to win the series, implying they have a 75% chance of advancing to the World Series. The Dodgers (+240) still have a 29.4% likelihood of returning to baseball’s grandest stage.
Although it’s still early, the ALCS also took an unexpected early turn. The underdog Guardians dominated Game 1 on the road, 7-3, making them the new series favorites at -150 (60% chance). The Rays are still at +125 (44.4%) series odds.

Rays third baseman Junior Caminero (+1,800) is the first non-Brewers player on the list. Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (+2,000) leads his squad, and first baseman Freddie Freeman (+2,500) heads the Dodgers.
