PENN Entertainment has reached a long-term, multi-channel deal with Monumental Sports and Entertainment that will result in market access for ESPN BET in Washington, D.C.
ESPN BET will now become a sports betting partner of Monumental Sports and Entertainment which owns the NHL's Washington Capitals, NBA's Wizards, and WNBA's Mystics.

“We are proud to partner with Monumental Sports and its teams to unite the energy of D.C. sports with our world-class platform,” said Aaron LaBerge, chief technology officer for PENN Entertainment. “This deal expands our footprint in the region, further connecting ESPN BET with one of America’s most passionate sports communities."
Through the D.C. sports betting deal, ESPN BET will increase its presence with in-arena and TV-visible signage, out-of-home advertising, a commercial schedule across Monumental Sports Network, and unique hospitality and experiences.
Dueling sportsbooks?
Those who attend Capital One Arena to see either the Wizards, Capitals, or Mystics will note that the arena already has prominent signs for Caesars Sportsbooks. In fact, in 2021, Caesars opened the first sports betting venue inside of a U.S. professional sports facility where bettors can enter before passing through arena security.
Also, Caesars has the Caesars Sportsbook Lounge VIP row for Capitals games.
Time will tell whether both sportsbooks share their presence in the arena or if Caesars will be looking elsewhere.
More changes for ESPN BET
On top of this announcement, PENN Entertainment will also be rebranding several of its retail locations to ESPN BET Sportsbook.
