The 2024 presidential race is getting a star-studded boost after Lady Gaga performed “God Bless America” at a Kamala Harris rally in Pennsylvania on Monday. As the polls open for the 47th presidential election, celebrities on both sides of the political coin have shared their endorsements, which could encourage undecided fans to vote and tilt the presidential election odds.
Madonna recently shared on Instagram that she jetted home from Paris just to cast her vote for Harris, while Beyonce made a rare political appearance to support Harris at a pro-abortion rally in Texas. On the flip side, podcaster Joe Rogan and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul are throwing their support behind Trump.
Long list backing Harris
Harris has also garnered the support of the Marvel universe, with actors like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Evans all supporting the Democratic campaign. Other pro-Harris actors include Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Robert de Niro, and Anne Hatheway, as well as directors Spike Lee and Ken Burns.
Among the many musicians supporting the Harris/Walz ticket are Rihanna, will.i.am, Cardi B, Stevie Nicks, Chappel Roan, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Kelly Rowland, and Kesha.
Former Presidents and First Ladies Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Jimmy Carter are all voting for Harris, and so have star athletes such as Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Magic Johnson.
Which celebs are voting Trump?
On the Republican side, Trump has received the support of celebrity billionaires like Elon Musk, Miriam Adelson, and Steve Wynn. Unlike his daughter, Lady Gaga's father, Joe Germanotta, is voting Republican.
Trump has received the endorsement of several high-profile musicians, though the list is notably shorter than the Harris campaign. Kanye West, Billy Ray Cyrus, Azealia Banks, and Kid Rock are all supporting the Trump/Vance ticket. High-profile actors endorsing Trump include Mel Gibson, Zachary Levi, and Russell Brand.
Former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan, boxer Mike Tyson, and Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker are also all staunch Trump supporters.
Damaged campaigns, Democratic gains
The two presidential candidates are currently neck-and-neck in the polls as Election Day live updates trickle in. However, a recent pro-Trump rally in New York appears to have done more damage than good for the Republican campaign after a comedian disparaged Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.” Trump supporter and Puerto Rican artist Nicky Jam, who performed at a Trump rally in September, has since renounced his support of Trump.
Harris, meanwhile, has gained the support of singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, whose parents were born in Puerto Rico, and had Puerto Rican musician Ricky Martin perform at her final rally before election day in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state.
