After recently enhancing its problem gambling efforts for Problem Gambling Awareness Month, MGM Resorts International now unveiled extensive updates to its MGM Rewards loyalty program, improving member benefits on the property and out at sea.

The changes make the program more rewarding and accessible for members. The company will offer new incentives on most membership tiers, and increased partner combinations and innovative offerings will boost overall guest experience.

At the core of the new benefits is Milestone Rewards, which rewards and incentivizes outstanding members as they go up in tier levels rather than rewarding them purely upon reaching new tiers. This new structure includes Rollover Tier Credits, letting members carry over some Tier Credits they've amassed to the following year.

Members who earn 50,000 Tier Credits in 2025 can carry over 7,500 credits into 2026, while members who reach 125,000 Tier Credits can carry over an additional 17,500 credits. These carry-over opportunities create a strategic advantage in keeping or speeding up tier progression in the long run.

Milestone Rewards also include matching celebration credits for members when they reach higher tiers. Gold members enjoy a $100 Tier Celebration Credit that can be used at hotels, restaurants, entertainment, and spas.

Platinum members receive a $200 celebration credit and travel credits of up to $600 for air travel to select MGM destinations like Las Vegas, Borgata, and Beau Rivage. While NOIR members, the program's highest level, receive a $500 celebration credit and travel rewards of up to $1,200.

Another major program is the increase in Marriott Bonvoy tier match rewards. Previously, only select tiers had match functionality, but under the new design, even Pearl members now receive Silver Elite status in Marriott Bonvoy.

Gold members are upgraded to Gold Elite, and Platinum members are not altered. NOIR members remain elite with a match into Marriott Bonvoy's top-tier Ambassador Elite level. This partnership offers increased access to more than 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy hotels worldwide.

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises customers also enjoy benefits

Much like Hard Rock’s Unity Points, MGM also increased benefits promoted to cruise partners, such as Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean.

NOIR members and MGM Rewards Platinum now get enhanced stateroom upgrades, longer vacation time, and more itineraries available through the Annual Cruise Benefit. This benefit is now also available to Gold Tier members. All members receive Onboard FreePlay credit on eligible sailings when they book through MGM Rewards offers or group cruise reservations.

Lastly, the company is introducing a branded MGM Rewards credit card, which it's labeling an "iconic" product. While there's no current information available about the card, it's represented as a future addition to the rewards platform, possibly with rewards that blend spending and tier progress with experiential rewards.

These developments mark the beginning of MGM Resorts' broader strategic initiative to refresh and enhance its loyalty program. The company states these enhancements are based on member input and designed to make the rewards experience more rewarding and relevant at every point of contact.
