A lucky player from New Jersey has won a $136,824.50 jackpot from an 80-cent spin on "Ted Jackpot Royale," having downloaded the Hard Rock app just hours earlier.
The huge prize was won on the popular White Hat Studios game while Brian, the player in question, was relaxing at home watching horror movies from his couch.
Despite being brand new to the app, and only making an initial $20 deposit in his account, Brian secured one of the game’s top prizes.
Ted comes to life in 'Ted Jackpot Royale'
"Ted Jackpot Royale" is a game developed by White Hat Studios, available via Hard Rock Bet in New Jersey. Inspired by the cute but slightly offensive teddy bear made famous in the 2012 film, the game is a five-reel 20-line slot with additional features like Ted Free Spins.
One of 2,250 casino games available via Hard Rock Bet’s New Jersey casino and sportsbook platform, the top "Ted Jackpot Royale" potential payout for the game is 10,000 times a player’s initial stake.
Brian, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, said he simply bet $0.80, hit spin and waited as symbols flashed across the screen before the jackpot message appeared. Brian told Hard Rock Bet that he intends to use his winnings to upgrade his outdoor entertainment.
Record-breaking progressive win in New Jersey
The $136,824.50 real money prize that went to Brian is far from the biggest jackpot that has been won in New Jersey recently.
In August, a BetMGM player broke records countrywide by winning a $6.4 million progressive jackpot playing the in-house slot game "Fruit Blaster." It was the largest jackpot in the history of the legalized online casino industry in the United States.
BetMGM’s $6.4 million progressive prize smashed previous records back in February when it topped $4 million, but it continued to grow at a rapid rate until August before it was won.
Hard Rock currently has another record progressive jackpot for the taking, too. Reportedly at more than $2 million and continuing to climb on Aristocrat Gaming’s "Dragon Link" slot machine, the prize is available to players at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood.
