Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City was a bit later than other properties in the area to enter the sports betting game but its Sportsbook opened its doors in early 2019, just in time for the Super Bowl, with Phase II rolling out prior to the Final Four.
The Hard Rock Sportsbook is located towards the back of the main casino floor. If you come down the escalators from the restaurant area and parkade, head to the back left of the casino; if you enter from the Boardwalk, walk towards the back right.
As you get to the sportsbook, the first thing you’ll see is the betting counter where there are five betting windows and a high-limit counter. There are also terminals available where bettors can access their online Hard Rock Sportsbook account. Ten different odds boards are scattered around the betting windows and the rest of the book.
The sportsbook isn’t looking to compete with some of the larger books in Atlantic City but, at 3,800 square feet, it’s still a great place to make a bet and watch a game or two. There is seating for around 50 at round tables with padded chairs, more seating at high-top tables, and at the bar. With 46 TVs placed on basically every inch of available wall space, there isn’t a bad seat in the house and bettors can pretty much be guaranteed that the game they want to watch will be on.
Another feature that sets the Hard Rock apart from some of the competition is the in-book bar, meaning bettors won’t need to leave the area to get a drink. The bar is right at the base of the main video wall, making the bar seats some of the best in the book. The bar also doubles as a video poker bar with terminals built into the bartop.
The bar itself doesn’t serve food but bettors are welcome to grab food from anywhere on the property and bring it to the book. The sportsbook also runs food promotions that bettors will enjoy; when we visited in April, anyone betting $100 or more was given a coupon for a free Hard Rock Legendary Burger at Hard Rock Cafe Atlantic City.
Hungry bettors also need to know that there is a White House Subs location on the casino property that is open much later than the historic landmark location on Arctic Ave. My recommendation: a “half” cheesesteak (a full is two feet long!) with provolone, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and banana pepper relish.
Does the Hard Rock Sportsbook have an online app?
Yes. Bettors can place sports bets online via the Hard Rock Online Casino while located in the state of New Jersey. The online sportsbook currently has a promotion where new customers get a risk-free $100 sports bet with no rollover. Bettors can also earn comp dollars towards the Hard Rock Hotel by betting online.
Those betting online can also withdraw cash from their account at the Hard Rock Sportsbook. Simply use the app to ask for a cash-at-the-cage withdrawal, wait for the confirmation, and pick up your money at the window.
What are the hours of operation?
· Monday - Sunday: Noon - 10 pm
Note that the sportsbook bar and betting windows close at 10 pm but the TVs are always on. Bettors can also cash winning tickets at the casino cages.
How to get free drinks at the sportsbook?
The Hard Rock Sportsbook does not currently offer free drinks to bettors. The book is located next to the casino floor, however, so a bettor could drop a couple of dollars into a slot machine, order a free beverage, and then bring it back to the sportsbook.
Is smoking allowed in the sportsbook?
Yes, smoking is allowed inside the Hard Rock Sportsbook.
How old do you need to be to enter the sportsbook?
As with all sportsbooks in New Jersey, bettors must be 21 years of age or older.
How do you make a bet at the sportsbook?
There are two ways to make a sports bet at the sportsbook:
- At the betting window. Be sure to have the rotation number of the bet you want to make before getting to the window.
- Online. Sign up for the Hard Rock Online Casino Sportsbook and make bets without having to leave your seat!
