Flutter Entertainment plc has announced that Richard Flint is to step down from the board of directors on May 1.

Flint has been with Flutter, a global sports betting, gaming, and entertainment provider, since March 2020, when the company merged with The Stars Group Inc.

Previously, Flint served as executive chair of Sky Betting & Gaming, up until October 2019. Flint is also well known for his position as Chief Executive Officer of the company, which he held for 10 years until its 2018 acquisition by TSG.

“The board wishes to thank Richard for the considerable value and strategic insights he has brought to Flutter during his tenure and acknowledge his tremendous contribution to the development of the Sky Bet business since its inception in 2001," said John Bryant, chair of the group. "We wish him success in the future."

Flutter achieved remarkable growth in Q3 of last year, despite a number of headline-grabbing changes to its top team.

In April, Jonathan Hill stepped down as chief operating officer. September saw another shift in leadership, with Bryant being appointed chair, replacing Gary McGann. Non-executive director Mary Turner also left in September 2023.

News of Flint’s departure, which was announced on Thursday, led to a dip in share prices for Flutter. Flutter Entertainment plc (LSE:FLTR) shares were trading 0.16% lower, at 12,825.00 pence per share, in London on Thursday morning. The parent company is targeting late January for a listing on the New York Stock Exchange.
