North Carolina may be the best state in 2024 to launch sports betting, and operators are making sure to be a part of the eventual go-live date. Underdog is the most recent shoe to drop with their partnership with McConnell Golf.

“McConnell Golf is thrilled to welcome Underdog Sports as our official sports betting partner,” McConnell Golf COO, Christian Anastasiadis said.

“Underdog is the fastest growing fantasy sports company ever – that is impressive.”

Jeremy Levine, founder and co-CEO of Underdog Sports, added “Underdog is thrilled to launch our betting games in North Carolina in partnership with McConnell Golf.”

North Carolina Betting

While North Carolinians will be unable to bet for the Super Bowl next month, March Madness is still a possibility so sportsbooks will need to get their applications in as soon as possible to grab market share.

The Tar Heel State announced that any operator who wants a sports betting license must team up with a sports team, sports league, or venue. Underdog’s partner, McConnell Golf, is tied to the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship making them eligible to apply. Underdog with this partnership is the 9th operator to officially request a license.

Underdog operations

Underdog is mainly known for their fantasy sports but their jump into sports betting is not a surprise. Their fantasy operations can be found in 33 states across the U.S., and in Canada and they are using their popularity to jump into sports betting. The company has signaled interest in Colorado and Ohio betting markets.

“We’ve spent the last four years building our own technology so we can give sports fans in America new and different ways to enjoy the sports they love. We’re excited to be able to offer that to North Carolinians and look forward to evolving the experience with them,” Levine added.
