Additionally, his fastball velocity is down slightly from last year and his pitch values are also down across the board, per FanGraphs.
I’m not convinced the first-year Arizona Diamondback is fully healthy after missing the first four months of the season with a left shoulder injury. He’s also only averaged 84 pitches across his four starts and struggled last time out after topping out with 100 pitches in his start against the Miami Marlins on Aug. 20.
Los Angeles enters the matchup ranking third in both wOBA (.332) and on-base percentage (.334) against southpaws this season, and the Dodgers are also mashing of late. They sport a fourth-ranked .346 wOBA while averaging 5.83 runs per game across the past two weeks.
