MLB Player Props for 9-26: Best Bets for Keller, Freeland & Musgrove

Despite playing his home games at Coors Field, lefty Kyle Freeland has done a better job at suppressing offense at altitude than on the highway. The Under on his hits allowed prop is one of our favorite plays of the day as a result.

There’s all-day baseball on the diamond and our top MLB player props have you covered from start to finish.

Struggling Pittsburgh Pirates righty Mitch Keller kick-starts the picks this afternoon, and fading San Diego Padres veteran Joe Musgrove wraps up the nods in the nightcap. Meanwhile, Colorado Rockies lefty Kyle Freeland is showing value as a hit suppressor.

MLB props for September 26

Today’s best MLB props

Prop bet #1: Mitch Keller Under 17.5 outs recorded

-107 at Pinnacle

The season can’t end quickly enough for Pittsburgh Pirates righty Mitch Keller

He’s posted a 6.85 ERA and 1.54 WHIP while surrendering a 45.1% hard-hit rate through nine starts since the calendar flipped to August, and Keller has also recorded 17 outs or fewer in six of those trips to the hill.

The 28-year-old draws another tough matchup this afternoon, with the Milwaukee Brewers sporting a seventh-ranked .322 wOBA and fifth-ranked .327 on-base percentage against righties for the season. It will be another short outing for Keller, which favors our MLB picks.

Kyle Freeland Under 6.5 hits allowed

+112 at Caesars

Colorado Rockies veteran Kyle Freeland has allowed six hits or fewer in seven of his past 10 starts while posting a respectable 3.79 ERA and holding opposing hitters to a .252 batting average and .262 BABIP. He draws a favorable matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals this afternoon, too.

The Cards enter with a 24th-ranked .230 average against lefties for the season and a .234 mark in September. St. Louis veterans Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado are also the only bats in the lineup with double-digit at-bats against Freeland and his smoke-and-mirrors, five-pitch mix.

Additionally, pitching at hitter-friendly Coors Field hasn’t been a hindrance to the lefty. Freeland has surrendered a .246 batting average and .300 wOBA at home compared to respective .313 and .377 highway marks this season.

Prop bet #3: Joe Musgrove Under 16.5 outs recorded

-105 at BetMGM

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to crush at the dish with the second-highest wOBA (.353) for the month and the highest walk rate (10.0 BB%). They also rank fourth in wOBA (.333) against righties for the year.

So, while San Diego Padres righty Joe Musgrove is in a groove of his own, blanking the San Francisco Giants and Chicago White Sox in his past two starts is a little different than navigating a Los Angeles lineup looking to chase down the top seed in the NL.

Plus, Musgrove was still squared up for a 44.4% hard-hit rate during the two-start stretch.
