My Red Sox vs Tigers best bet: Tarik Skubal Under 4.5 hits allowed (-140 at bet365)
Tarik Skubal has made it clear over the last couple of seasons he is one of the best pitchers in the game. The southpaw comfortably won the Cy Young last season, and he’s on track to do so again, according to the latest Cy Young odds.
The Detroit Tigers' ace is 4-2 with a 2.08 ERA, striking out 60 batters in 47 2/3 innings while walking just five. Video game numbers.
Skubal has also only allowed 37 hits, cashing the Under on his 'hits allowed' line in five of his last six outings — giving up only two knocks last time out against the Rangers and four before that to the Angels.
Plus, Skubal is even better at home. His ERA drops to 1.13 at Comerica Park, surrendering only 17 hits in 24 innings of work. While the Boston Red Sox are hitting .269 against southpaws, Skubal is a different beast. He’ll miss a lot of bats tonight and throw another gem.

Skubal has allowed just three earned runs in four starts at home while going 3-0 during that span. Skubal is basically unhittable at Comerica. Also, he’s cashed the Under in earned runs surrendered in three straight appearances.
The resurgence of Javier Baez this season has been inspiring. After struggling immensely over his first few years in Detroit, Baez has found his best again and is batting .319 with five home runs and 27 RBI.
The veteran also played hero on Tuesday evening, smacking a pair of three-run homers. Baez has easily cashed the Over in hits in back-to-back games and is 5-for-9 in this series. In fact, he’s cashed the Over in 10 of his last 12 contests.
